Awesome nachos. And the rest of the food rocks too. Big portions, excellent and punctual service, fun atmosphere. They had a big TV on showing World Cup games last time we went. I used to live in San Antonio and this restaurant is like some of the best Mexican restaurants down there. But honestly even if the meals were so-so I would go just for the fresh, hot, homemade chips and salsa. Go here now!
What a letdown. The hype around this restaurant was through the roof … but it was just that, hype. we sat for 10 minutes before we were even greeted by a server. My margarita was pre made in a plastic jug … so many things wrong with that including health concerns of chemical break down of the plastic itself. The floor was filthy … and I cannot comment on the food because we left before we ordered. I’ll keep looking for good Mexican in Bufflo
Bulldog. Same owners as Don Tequila but I feel that it is better. Smaller restaurant with a bigger menu some similar items as Don Tequila but a whole new page of their specialties. Painted murals and Mexican music set the atmosphere. Fresh chips are hot out of the oven and quickly replaced by the friendly and attentive staff. Tortilla soup came out in a bowl bigger than my head and had the right amount of spice. The nachos grande has everything possible on them. Menu has a page of vegetarian items. Jumbo quesadilla was huge and stuffed with meat vegetables and rice. Could barely finish it. Get a bulldog drink which is a margarita with a mini coronarita in the glass turned upside down. Definitely worth it. Sergio the owner will be happy to talk tequila with you! Was able to sample a few different kinds from his recommendations. Drink prices are a little expensive so bring extra money. Hope they build a patio for the summer!
Being a Texan I automatically have a high expectation for Mexican cuisine. I had reservations about dining at a Mexican restaurant in NY but based on the other reviews and I thought I would give Agave a chance. You should always listen to your inner voice. If you’re from Texas Agave will not satisfy your Mexican cravings… Never been to Texas you might be fooled.
The atmosphere was fun and lively, the guac was quite creamy, and they know how to make a michelada (rare in Buffalo). Sadly, the menu was very difficult to navigate as a vegan (generally it’s easy to find the clearly vegan options at Mexican restaurants), the rice and beans (came with cheese, which I didn’t know and scraped off) were alright at best, and my omnivorous dining mate said the tacos carnitas were remarkably bad (tasted like a barnyard). We may give it another try, but the first impression was alright (mine) to not at all good (my dining mate’s).
Good Fun Environment. A great new addition to the Elmwood Village. Typical Mexican food but great prices and Margaritas. A great place to take the lil ones and husband.
Same as Don Tequila. Pretty much the same as Don Tequila. Similar menu, not many vegetarian options (like black beans) and food lacking in flavor.
