I came to Black Sheep as a nearby resident with desire for this place to be our next regular go-to, Unfortunately, expectations were not met in service nor quality of food. Almost every aspect of the meal was disappointing, including portion, taste, and service. The gnocchi was overcooked and thrown together. The fish plate was under portioned and lacking in flavor. The specialty clams were overcooked, The squash dish was pretty much ridiculous. True statement. The only positive was that our waiter came over with dessert menus well after we already had to flag down another server for our check.I would honestly love for this place to be better.

Yes. I’m somewhat of a gourmet and a former chef, so my standards are pretty high. Hands down, I had the best meal of my life at Black Sheep tonight. Me and my party sampled about half the menu and everything was exquisite. The flavors are clean and bold without ever becoming pretentious or strange. So many restaurants go for the casual upscale concept and almost nail it; most are mediocre on a good day. Black Sheep absolutely killed it in my opinion. While most places overcharge, they could have justifiably doubled the bill. I’m very good cooking Italian: their Bolongese blew my mind. Yes

The food was good, I wouldn’t say the flavor was explosive. Place was very clean and service was excellent. Plates were little pricey, I don’t have a problem with price if everything chimes together. Last but not least, when you spend 85 dollars plus and ask for more bread and they inform you there is a two dollar additional charge for more bread. Really!!!!!!

Nantucket bay scallops and the pizzocheri were outstanding. Not crazy about the cofktails. Would probably do draft beer next time. Would definitely return!
