Very poor service. As a Buffalonian and Elmwood Village resident, I will NEVER return to Cole’s on Elmwood. After making a reservation for 10 for Sunday brunch 2 more were added last minute and Cole’s was very unwilling to accommodate the extra two people. Instead they informed us that the only option, because we made reservations for 10 not 12 would be to squish together if we wanted to stay and eat. As a business owner myself, the appropriate way to handle it would have been to say I’m sorry, we will add one of our (literally) 10 empty tables to the 2 four top tables we currently have you sitting at to accommodate you. Not only did they lose our business that day but they also lost it in the future and we will be telling everyone we know not to go there! Terrible place to eat! ( also didn’t mention it smelled of stale beer and the food , in the past, has just been OK.)

It’s Coles. If you don’t like it, chances are you’re not originally from Buffalo. This place is a cornerstone of local cuisine and spilled pints, an area original that has persevered for ages. Good food, great tap list, amazing and unparalleled character. Try the stuffed peppers or stick with the wings, grab a burger or down a few drinks, Cole’s is the quintessential Buffalo bar and an Elmwood staple.
Good selection of beer. However you would expect them to know how to poor a Guinness beer. Besides that you will have a great time.
Fantastic food, terrible ser…. Some of the best pub food around. The Tuna Steak burger is amazing. They have a really fantastic mustard seed sauce with their calamari. The beer list is pretty extensive as well. However the service is very lackluster, everything takes very long to come and most servers are very slow and do not take the time to ensure customers are satisfied…
Good food, poor service. I seem to have had a similar experience at Cole’s as many of the other reviews. I was visting family in Buffalo last week and the group of us went to Cole’s for lunch. I had been there years ago but didn’t remember liking it or not. The place is really cool on the inside, nice atmosphere. The food was quite good a well, all of us liked our meals (I had the Bison Brat Burger). However, the service was just horrible. Took at least 15-20 minutes for the waitress to come by for drink orders. The food took at least 30 mins to come out and another 15 to pick up the credit card. This place is an institution on Elmwood but I’ll likely never go back just because of the service.
Great Beer and Food. Service was ok but the beer and food are fantastic. I’m a huge fan of the lobster BLT. Wow. Buffalo eggrolls and clams casino are tasty as well.
