Good down home cooking!. Even though it is not located in one of the best areas of the city is has to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Friendly, attentive and accommodating staff. The service is fast as well! Reasonable prices and great food. I love the BBQ and smothered ribs. The homemade mac & cheese is to die for!! I highly recommend this place.

Southern soul food. Love love love going back in my childhood and when I smell the food at gigi’s it takes me back. If you like soul food like moma makes…pull up a stool at the counter and enjoy the benefits of real soul food…..my favorites peach cobbler and banana pudding..

Simple and Good. When walking in the restaurant, I felt a bit awkward when I realized that we were the only non-black people within a mile. However, nobody seemed to mind, and the food was pretty good. Don’t expect ‘haute cuisine’, it is called soul food and that’s what you get, and you’ll love it.

Really cute inside. Fast and attentive service. Sub sandwiches are excellent. Their homemade raspberry truffle ice cream is excellent too

Excellent meal. We were visiting Buffalo from Toronto and looking for some great soul food. Toronto’s African-Canadian community is mostly from Trinidad and Jamaica, so while we’ve great Caribbean/West Indian food, there’s no Southern/Soul to be found. Gigi’s was packed when we arrived – always a good sign. We had smothered chicken that was juicy, tender and flavorful. Great corn bread to start. The Mac and cheese was creamy and rich. Turnip greens were the best I’ve had (not too salty and just a small kick of chili). We will be back for sure on our next pass through Buffalo.

Probably the best soul food you can get in Western New York, but bring cash since they don’t take plastic for some reason. I would go more often if they did.
