Loved. Fun Place to Go and Delicious!
Salto. Could have been really good food minus the ridiculous over abundance of salt. We left wondering if we should go to the ER. My tongue was burnt. On the other hand the cucumber cocktail was one of the best I’ve ever had. Delish. Would not go back unless I had a sodium deficiency .
Was craving Asian food and wanted to have a few drinks with our meal. Went on a Saturday night for dinner sat at the bar. Got 2 Sapporo draft beers and a flight of sake for drinks. We asked the waitress for a few sake recommendations because we don’t like sweet ones. She presented us a flight of three drier ones and every one we liked. The 2 oz glasses are more than enough to drink. Ordered 2 Sato Ramen bowls and a Chef’s choice sushi platter that came with 4 nigiri and a roll. The Sato Ramen was very good and a small was enough since we added some extra sides in our soup. The sushi platter was fresh but took a long time to come out. We were at least 10 minutes finished with our Ramen before we got it. Chef apologized for it being so late and since all of the rolls and nigiri fell apart with the touch we figured they rushed it out. Only real complaint is that everything served seemed to be room temperature including the beer. Figured it might have been due to the warm muggy weather but was expecting cold beer and sushi and hot steaming soup.
Always a delicious meal!. Filling a gap in Buffalo restaurants, SATO is really a delightful experience. The restaurant itself is modern and charming, the staff is friendly and the menu is well put together. Whether you’re there for ramen, sushi, katsu or curry, it’s all delicious. The variety really makes it a great place to take a diverse group–there’s something for everyone! The sake flights are a great way to be introduced to the world of sake. The spicy miso ramen is my favorite. I really can’t wait to go back!
Very ethnic must try.
Ramen Finally!. The ramen dishes at Sato are amazing! Have tried them all. Addictive really. Buffalo has been lacking in this area. Quality thoughtful ingredients. Loved the vegetable dumplings as well. Just a little disappointed by the carefully measured 5oz glass of wine, 2 of the red choices at $9.00. Have a beer or a pot of tea instead (better buy). Perhaps they could offer a special red & white wine of the week at a lower price point. 5 star Ramen *****
Dirty rag smell. While the restaurant appeared impeccably clean, the smell of the rag (old mop smell) with which tables and other surfaces were wiped was totally offensive and pervasive and really interfered with my experience of the food and place. The smell seemed to hang in the air, or the rag was stored near us somewhere not visible. This really put me off, and I’m not sure the food (I wasn’t knocked out by the three thins I had tastes of) will lure me back.
