Same great food, but poshy atmosphere and no ratty grocery store in front.. We have not been to Sun for quite some time now. Today we were hungry for some great Asian food and decided to check it out again. We were not aware it was closed for renovations and just reopened two months ago. We were really surprised to see how wonderful it looked inside. There is a new side entrance, a cozy, hip sushi bar (serving rolls with black rice) and a dark, sexy dining room with pretty pendant lighting and nicely upholstered booths. The food at Suns has always been great but it now seems to follow much more sophisticated fusion theme. I had the Soft Shell Crab appetizer, the Hawaiian Poke roll and Pumpkin Stew with Chicken. My partner had the Seafood Pad Thai which he said was as good as Nicki’s in Pittsburgh (hands down the best for many who know it). The texture of the noodles was just right and the sauce was not overwhelming or greasy. Our service was friendly and not overbearing. We went quite some time after the lunch crowd but there were still quite a few diners at other tables. We will be eating here again very soon. I can’t wait to try the sushi bar!
Hands down my new fav place!!! Shockingly pretty inside and spacious. Black rice is visually interesting and tastes even better. Excellent service. Everything we had- sushi, dessert, noodles…- was wonderful. Take out available. Another gem on Niagara St!!

Amazing food! I had the black rice salad and pumpkin stew and my boyfriend had a Burmese spicy noodle dish, all were fabulous! I can’t stop thinking about this place and can’t wait to go back for some more!
Everything was absolutely delicious. I want to try other dishes. I will return for more. The place is romantic, nice, quiet. The food was tasty and fresh. Spring rolls were so juicy. The curry chicken was tasty as not spicy as I asked!
Wonderful. I’m not familiar with Burmese cuisine, but otherwise know my way around Asian food. This place was great – service was polite and fast, and the food was flavorful, spicy and delicious. It’s the type of place that you want to come back to and try the whole menu.
I love this place. I get the spicy sun chicken and rice. The side of red onion and cabbage is so good. Haven’t been disappointed
