I just had my first experience with Phoenix and it was truly excellent all the way around. The service, the food and the atmosphere are all real winners. Phoenix is the epitome of the cozy neighborhood restaurant and tavern; informal yet nicely appointed and very clean. Buffalo is notorious for the incredible fish fry experience. The one that I had at Phoenix is one of the most amazing meals that I can remember. The prices are very reasonable, too. The host, the bartender and our server were wonderful as well. These folks seem to enjoy their work and they deliver friendly and very professional service. Also, they have plenty of free parking in their own lot. Given that parking is at such a premium in the Amherst/Military area, this is a big plus. I’ll be back, for sure, and I won’t hesitate to recommend Phoenix to my friends!

Yes good. Loved it. Cozy restaurant for a snowy or rainy night. Bar was cozy. Bartender very friendly and talkative without being obtrusive. Drinks hit the spot. Dinner was great. I had a salad and the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage. Was very nice with just a bit of spice. Seating area was on the tighter side but complemented the atmosphere. We all enjoyed our meals. Will go back again to try more menu items!!

Phoenix. Four stars doesn’t do this restaurant justice. The bar is great with Dave bartender. Food excellent. Salmon best ever, perfectly prepared and delicious. Our husbands had shrimp w/grits. Loved every morsel. Five stars to the chef. Service was wonderful w/Katie. Warm, friendly and efficient. I will tell my friends and family members of our experience and recommend to everyone to go yourself and try it – its wonderful

A real treat. Dinner last night was wonderful. I liked the relish tray instead of the usual bread basket at many restaurants. The horseradish encrusted salmon was done to perfection, served over rice pilaf. The crispy spinach was the real treat. Never had I tasted such this treat. My guest had the shrimp and grits, which had a generous portion of andouille sausage that spiced up the dish but was not over powering. A Flying Bison Aviator Red paired well with both dishes. This place is a definite do again.

So good!. Went last night with three girlfriends, had a great time. Very intimate atmosphere, but was pretty busy. They changed to their summer menu which took out some of the other items mentioned in reviews, but menu still is very appealing. I had the salmon, which was delicious. One friend had the Phoenix burger, another the tomato salad, tomato soup, and apple crisp for dessert. We ate it all. Also, the banana pepper dip is so good. Def recommend it.

Try the frenched lemon chicken… AMAZING! Went on a Fri nite so it was busy and kitchen a little slow. The service made up for it though by comping a round. Glad to try out a new place and will def be back!!

Cozy and Delicious. I have been there twice now and I’ve been totally satisfied each time. The complimentary pickled veggies and bread crisps with dip is a tasty starter. The hot pepper dip was the best I’ve had. The dinners are comfort food kicked up a notch and are healthy portions. The steak, frenched chicken, perogie with spars kielbasa, and shrimp with grits & andouillie were cooked perfectly. Its a casual, comfortable environment. I can tell the bartenders, owner and lead server have been in the service industry for years. I love that it is an authentic environment with genuine character. Distracting attention to glitz and glamor does not exist here. This is a perfect balance of cozy and excellent food, served up by professional staff.Cant wait to hang out on the large patio out back in the summer.14 Mar, 2013Professional and Delicious.
