Very mediocre if that. I went there on two separate occasions and the service is wonderful but their sushi isn’t even sub par. for anyone who has actually had quality sushi they wouldn’t even remotely stomach this. It seems to be done half fast and of very poor quality and lack of flavor. I really want to like this place but time and time again they have let me down
Great value sushi! The pla…. Great value sushi! The place is small and kind of hole-in-the-wall, but you can’t beat the prices on their sushi! Love the crunchy rolls. They have mochi icecream too!!! Nice for a light (healthy) lunch while walking along Elmwood.
Curses! Take your business to somewhere more deserving. Wasabi is certainly the worst experience I have had yet in dining life. On one of the mistakes of times I’ve been there the waitress was horribly rude and ate lunch as my date and I starved and with water glasses nearing empty. Though I was offended I still had the common courtesy to leave a small tip of over one dollar. I then left the establishment and was actually chased down by the waitress hounding me for a larger tip. Despite my outrage I came back a few weeks later to give them another chance and was treated with the same brand of cruelty. Given the Japanese backgrounds of the chefs the food is of near embarrassing quality. Clearly there are some underlying grievances against the customer base among employees since they have treated me with about the same level of respect as a stray dog looking for scraps. Further, they go out of their way to hustle diners out of the restaurant in as little time as possible. Our waiter the other day lacked even the common courtesies that accompany the job title. As he came to serve our second course he blatantly knocked my soupspoon out of my hand and caused soup to spill all over the table. Without offering to clean it up, he walked away coldly returning a few minutes later with the check, highly prematurely. I was humiliated in front of my date and was tempted to bill them for the dry cleaning of my now ruined favorite cashmere-wool blend cardigan. I vow only to return with a lawsuit and a small appetite. I am taking my chopsticks and crossing Wasabi off my list.
Fantastic!! Food was amazing. I frequent Japanese restaurants all the time and this one is at the top of my list!!
Ohm nom nom!. I like Wasabi. Honestly, I really do. Their sashimi is super fresh and the lunch deal for it is the best I’ve ever found. I’m not a huge fan of rolls since I make my own at home, but sushi grade fish is tough to find in Buffalo. That said, I still usually steal a few rolls from my boyfriend 🙂 I’ve also had their teriyaki beef and chicken lunch combo which comes with salad, dumplings and a California roll. This place is cheap, fresh, service is great and overall, worth it.
THE BEST!. The most amazing selection of sushi especially the specialty rolls…i LOVE this place. The elmwood location is a little small and tight but worth it 🙂
