What is not to love about the Cedarhurst Ave Cafe!. We marked an end of an era when the original Cedarhurst Ave Caf closed its doors late last year. It truly left a void in Cedarhurst. However, John and Dalia are back, and better than ever! They brought the same friendly, attentive service from their previous location, and married it with a warm, inviting, yet private new location right across from the train station. The new place is elegant enough for a celebration dinner, but still homey and affordable enough for a family dinner. They are a local treasure, and the new place is spot on. We celebrated our anniversary at the new Cedarhurst Avenue Caf (now at 477 Chestnut) We shared seafood pasta, and a chorizo stuffed chicken breast with sweet potatoes. A-MAZ-ING. The food quality, freshness, seasoning rival or top anything that we have had in Manhattan, with the convenience of five towns. The Chef, from Barcelona, brought an international flair to apple bread pudding, seasoning it with cardamom, and I only wish I knew the rest of the ingredients, because it had the perfect balance of richness, sweetness and new, yet familiar seasoning that I am craving again today. We can’t wait to go back!!!30 May, 2011Even though we’ve moved away from the area, we make special trips back to the Cedarhurst Cafe to enjoy the wonderful food and friendly service. We love the breakfast, wraps, burgers, everything is amazing!!!
