Cohoes isn’t exactly a dining Mecca so it’s nice to see some interesting places popping up. We’ve visited this location twice in recent weeks and both times found the food to be quite good. The restaurant is nicely appointed with wooden tables and comfortable seating with a small sushi bar off to the side. I believe they serve beer but I didn’t partake so I can’t be sure – there isn’t any bar service area visible. We ordered some rolls, spicy salmon, tuna, etc. – it was the first time out so we didn’t get too adventurous. The sushi plates were fresh and exceptionally well presented – one of the rolls was fried in tempura batter and served warm – quite nice. The soups are good. On the other occasion we went for Chinese instead of Japanese and partook of the evening plated specials ($7.95 each.) We enjoyed sesame chicken and beef with garlic sauce – they were plated individually with rice and a couple small spring rolls. The hot and sour soup portion was not only good but quite large. Although dining in seemed a bit on the slow side the take out & delivery seemed brisk. Hopefully they’ll stick it out – nice to have a alternative to typical local Asian takeout.
