Most amazing French Onion Soup Ever!. All the food at the Willows is fantastic, but the French Onion Soup is unparalleled. Seriously, though it sounds silly, I’ve had dreams about it. For a romantic dinner or just meeting friends for an excellent place to eat go to the Willows ( and get the soup).

Wonderful!!!. Every meal has been a delight with stellar service and outstanding food. The seafood riggies are amazing, ,but anything you order you will love. I really love this restaurant.

Jan. Our party of four enjoyed the food very much and the service was O.K. My only complaint was the atmosphere and the noise. Upon entering, I could have easily walked away, but because we had friends with us we stayed. Too noisy for me.

Finally got to The Willows!. I’ve heard about The Willows since it opened and was interested in making it there. Then, a year ago, at a milestone birthday party, I received a gift certificate, which has been hanging on the fridge for the past year. So for my birthday this year, I opted to use it, as my fiance and I had a rare hole pop up in our schedule that finally allowed us to get to The Willows to judge for ourselves. After all this time, it is ironic that we went the same week they revised their menu! We were greeted in a friendly manner and I have to say that the service for the entire evening was timely, yet relaxed. Our server, Ruth, was at first stumbling over describing the specials, but from then on was impeccable at tending to us, yet in no way making us feel rushed or an inconvenience. My fiance opted for Fettucine Santorini, a blend of the pasta with baby spinach, hot cherry and roasted red peppers, feta, sundried tomatoes and basil pesto, to which she added the chicken option, which she was to discover was grilled. After much indecision between lamb, pork, duck or beef, I opted for the grilled 16-oz T-bone, with bleu cheese compound butter, fried red bliss potatoes and sweet creamed corn. I also decided to have a cup of the soup of the day, a creamy potato, bacon and cheddar. The soup was tasty…not bad, but not spectacular. But the T-bone was one of the most tender I’ve ever had in my life. Ordered medium-rare, it was a tad more to the rare side (but I like that) and melted away on the palate. The bleu cheese butter was a perfect accompaniment, and in the perfect amount so as to accent, but not overpower the beef. The corn was more of a reduction of normal sweet corn, being thick in consistency, and the red potatoes were what was expected. Both very simple sides, but pleasant in going with the steak. My fiance raved about the fettucine dish, and we traded bites. The chicken had a wonderful grill flavor, and the stronger taste in the pasta was the red peppers, which I enjoy more, so I was pleased with the bit she offered. Afterwards, we opted for dessert – it was my birthday dinner! I chose a chocolate roll cake, filled with mousse and topped with ganache, with sides of whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and a strawberry. She chose a lemon cheesecake with lemon glaze, which had a very nice graham cracker crust. Both were wonderful in satisfying the sweet tooth, without being overbearing or heavy. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that the water in the restaurant, while perfectly iced and poured, had a mild sulfur taste. Of course, this made me opt to have a second glass of Pinot Noir!!I would easily recommend The Willows, and their recently updated menu, which offers variety for all tastes. Our evening lasted a comfortable hour and forty minutes, and at no time left us feeling like we were waiting for service. The subtle colors and decor were very relaxing, and the layout spacious. Price was moderate to moderately higher than some area places, but not one bite was a disappointment. Oh – forgot to mention, we both had Caesar salad, which had the best dressing I have tasted in years, and bread for the table was fresh baked and wonderful, served with honey-butter. Wonderful! We will return!!

Consistently Delish!. The food is always delicious and the menu includes a selection of the Utica reliable entrees with a slight twist on the ingredients. Hands down, the best place to sit in the restaurant is the bar. Tommy is a creative mixologist who pays attention to the details. He understands that you sit at his bar to let the stress of your day leave your system. Willows is a real treat.

Lovin The Willows. My friends and I have gone to this fine restaurant three times. The decor is simple and clean, very Greenwich Village and they make a killer espresso martini. The greens and calamari are the best in the area, the Filet is marvelous, overall a wonderful experience each time. the food is always hot, it is so nice to have a restaurant this good in the area, I could not recommend it enough.
