BEWARE! RAW CHICKEN!!!!!. BEWARE!!!!! I went to The Colonie Diner tonight for dinner and got Chicken Vista which is a chicken breast stuffed with broccoli and mozz cheese. After eating 6-10 bites I noticed that the inside of the chicken breast was completely raw!!!!! I should have noticed sooner but was I was talking with my companion and didn’t until I consumed about 1/4 of it. When I say raw, I mean completely RAW. The waitress took it back and I ordered a roast beef sandwich instead (which by the way I couldn’t eat because I lost my appetite). Of course they refused to comp my meal and when I addressed it with the manager/owner (older Greek lady) she made no apologies but instead waved her hand in my face telling me that I shouldn’t worry because it wont make me sick! I had a friend that was served raw chicken years ago and he had to have 1/2 his intestines removed and came very close to dying! YOU CAN’T SERVE RAW CHICKEN .. IT WILL KILL SOMEONE! And, they have the nerve to still charge me for my meal! DO NOT go here….even if it was an isolated case, the fact that the owner treated me like it was my fault and was waving her hand in my face telling me I wont get sick from raw chicken tells me that that they could care less about their customer’s and the HEALTH of their customers. I WILL be contacting the NYS Department of Health as well. One last thing, I was raised in a restaurant. My family owned a diner in Niskayuna, NY for nearly 20 years, so I know the business and know how the Health Dept. monitors stuff like this. I surely hope that I don’t wake up in the middle of the night tonight dealing with the after effects of consuming RAW CHICKEN! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!
Good food and a loving family atmosphere. If I don’t start my weekday morning with my coffee (or unsweetened ice tea) and a pleasant visit with Aphrodite, well then, it starts off on rough ground. Pat never disappoints. The home fries are THE BEST around! The waitresses are always pleasant. If I have enough money with me, I like to top off my breakfast/lunch with a bowl of nice, cold tapioca pudding. Although its tough to say goodbye to the lovely, kind people at Colonie Diner, the genuine, albeit rushed at times, well wishes for the day, make the parting easier to handle. Can you tell that when you are a customer, you become family at Colonie Diner?
Went for breakfast on a Sunday around 9am and one of the few tables in there. Awesome old Greek woman as our waitress that was a riot. Food was cooked lightning fast and everything was pretty good. Country potatoes and sausage were diggity, the chocolate milk however wasnt good. Overall definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through Albany.

Great service! They have good veggie lasagna! They put peas in it but better then most! N it is not dry! Happy the last 11 times I have eaten here the past year. N I am picky!
