There is no better. I have eaten at Mama’s more times than I can count. I have never once had a bad or even mediocre meal! The food is just simply outstanding. I have eaten in the best Italian restaurants in Manhattan and none of them can hold a candle to Mama’s! The service is as good as its food. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable about how the dishes are prepared. I have brought people from all over NY to eat there and it becomes their favorite restaurant. The prices are reasonable and you will go home with several meals as the portions are very generous.
Awesome every time!!. I have to say i’ve been here many many times some just my husband and i and other times with a larger group. I’ve never had a bad experience. They don’t rush you out and give you time to sit and eat and talk with your party; the way a dinner out should be. They come to check on you without being overwhelming or pushy. The owner has come over often to see how everything was, we never have had a complaint. Food is amazing and I have pretty high standards for italian food. Portions are huge and it is very reasonable.
I love this place. I have to say that I never had a bad experience there.the owner always go out of her way to make sure my meal is great.the stuffed shells wit meat sauce is to die for.i travel frm the city every wk to go to mamas and always have leftovers.also I never had a bad waitor.i highly recommend this place
Nasty Owner-DON’T GO!. Our party of 4 had already started on a bottle of wine, and was ordering complete dinners. When asked for a small alteration on one of the sides for a customer with Celiac Disease, the owner, Grace, was insulting and belligerent. We had told our friends wonderful things about this place and were embarrassed by her hostility. Naturally, we paid for our wine and left. A meal out should be a break from stress, not its cause. GO ELSEWHERE, your patronage is NOT appreciated here.
Bad Service..Great Decor and food. Food has been very good everytime my husband and I have been there. The decor and ambiance inside the place is nice as well. The service while I would not say is the worst I have seen, the servers could use some additional training. They take a very long time and rarely if ever check on you after they have brought you your food. If the servers paid a little more attention to their tables and made the customers priority #1 this place would be great!! They need to stay on top of their customers. There have been times when yes it is busy however instead of asking us how we are doing the server is just standing around talking.
Food is good service is atrocious! Server Anthony was terrible, not only did he mess up order, stated it would come out of his pocket. We did not receive any bread forgot drink order and didn’t bring plates when asked twice. When I complained to manager she stated I shouldn’t have left any tip.
