Went on a Friday night at the place was packed – which I took as s good sign. The server was friendly but the service was a bit slow. The server was complaining about the young immature kitchen staff to a table sitting next to us… Kind of awkward and made me nervous about the food. The food was ok… Pierogues were good, burger was way overdone to the point of crispy on the outside, fries not so good, and chicken fingers were ok but you could tell most stuff came frozen and was nothing special. We probably should have gotten the fish fry instead. Mediocre bar food, would not go back.
Fantastic food, family atmosphere!. This is the only place that I will wait that long for a table, expect extremely long waits on fridays, but well worth the wait, only place I really like to go when I visit home for a yummy fish fry! Simple but homey atmosphere, enjoy a drink at the bar while you wait and take a load off from your busy week!!
Great Fish Fry. Jade’s Fish Fry is among the best in Western NY. I can’t say with certainty that it is THE best because there are so many establishments with a great Fish Fry but I’ll put them in the top 5. They also offer a great Polish Platter. There can be long waits for a table on busy nights, and it is small and cramped, but the service has always been great. The only downside is that they stop serving dinners pretty early.
THE VERY BEST FISH FRY EVER. Re Mike’s negative review – he is way off base and/or a competitor of Jade’s. I lived in the Buffalo area for about 40 yrs and now in Rochester for the last 25. I have NEVER, NEVER had a better fish fry than at Jade’s. My family has been eating there – it seems like forever and we keep on going back…and absooutely recommend Jade’s to all our friends. We make frequent visits to Buffalo just to stop at Jade’s for their fish fry. The fish is always fresh and the beer batter is excellent – fried to perfection…AND the skin on the fillet is removed before it is battered. The sides -potato salad, german potato salad, french fries, macaroni salad – are great too. All of this served with freshly baked sour rye bread. Who could ask for anything more? Plus the portions are stupendous – a 1/2 order is more than enough to eat. So, Mike, whoever you are, what have you been smoking?
Serving Carp?. We went here based on reputation. Well, that was a mistake. It was a very busy friday, the hostess and a waitress were on their phones,while people waited with tables empty. After 30 minutes, we finally sat. Fish Fry was soggy and tasted like bad carp. Salads were ok, but warm.Only saw our waitress when we ordered,then again for our check. People must be fooled ,this place DOES NOT live up to its reputation.
