Gusto, located in Poughkeepsie, NY, is the third restaurant opened by the team of Gianni Scappin and Lois Freedman, owners and operators of Cucina in Woodstock and Market St. In Rhinebeck. Hudson Valley Chef Scappin cooks with seasonal, local ingredients producing a signature, contemporary Italian menu. Gusto exudes a rustic elegance with its wide marble-topped and antique glass bar, dining room with blond wood banquettes, soft vintage lighting and stone patio. A second-floor private event space seating up to 100 at family-style farm tables is anchored by a large chalk drawn country scene mural by artist Render Stetson. Situated across from Vassar College, Gusto promises to be Chef Scappin's hot new dining spot catering to locals, tourists, students and faculty.
