The Lemongrass in Poughkeepsie is a hidden little gem of amazing Thai cuisine. Their duck dishes are amazing and their portions are just the right size.
Delicious and fresh. We arrived famished after a day of travel. The restaurant itself is situated in what seems to be a modified house which adds to its unpretentous charm. There is a larger dining room and small front porch (two tables); we opted for the latter. For starters, we had the house salad and chicken sate. The salad was filled with a spectrum of ingredients and with a delicious peanut dressing (this is NOT a place for people with peanut allergies!) and the sate was also well done. We had a range of dishes for entres which all were expertly executed and with unique flavors – this isn’t a place where everything is basically the same, just with slightly different sauces. The duck dish (Ped Pad Phet) was a great balance of perfectly cooked duck combined with shredded veggies and cashews and the Masaman Curry was an outstanding, subtle balanced meal. The best of the sort I’ve had.
