Manager, Quattro’s Farm. IN RESPONSE TO Kelly Dee (flyfitchchica) : After reading the feedback about your family’s experience cooking one of our Heritage Turkeys, I feel I must respond. First, let me clear one thing up for you. The person YOU spoke to on the phone was my mother-in-law, who I can assure you is NEVER, EVER defensive, rude or disrespectful. She is, however, an expert on raising turkeys! She is also NOT the person your father spoke to at our farm store – that would be me. That being said, let’s talk turkey! As I explained to your father, when he came into our farm store, our turkeys are definitely quite different than eating a commercially raised turkey. Unlike like commercially raised birds, our turkeys actually see the light of day (they are outdoors all of the time), and as a natural occurrence put on more fat due to colder weather. This is something you will not see in a commercially raised bird. Our turkeys are also far more plump than a commercially raised bird. It is a shame your father felt he was yelled at.
