Tommy’s Pizza Express in Wingdale worth every penny. First impressions: If your in the mood for an old-Style New York Italian dinner, head to Pizza Express, where the menu features pizza every-which-way, as well as pasta and sandwiches. I’m a big fan of comfortable Italian chief (Tommy) who serves the menu has a lot to offer. Ambience: Redone and more spacious with a big screen TV, wood filled room with exposed beam ceilings makes it feel more like a very nice classy upscale hard to get into private resturant than a pizza resturant. Starters: The three of us shared a tender barbecued chicken wings. Tender and nicely seasoned. Entrees come with a salad, served family-style with a choice of dressing. The house dressing is worth trying. Pizza excellence: the deep dish is like no other in NY, very cheesy and flavorful dish indeed. I highly recommend it. But you know you will be taking home leftovers. Service: Outstanding. There’s an emphasis on friendliness and efficiency here.
