Arriba is my favorite spot for Mexican food. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is helpful, and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always perfect, especially their seafood dishes. I usually get the shrimp skewers or the shrimp burrito. I went most recently during Restaurant Week with my boyfriend, and we were seated quickly and our food was out right on time. It is always packed with people, and their takeout is just as good as dining in.
Worst Mexican in town, if you can even call it that. Food was bland and tasteless.Service was sub par and we felt more of an inconvenience to our server than a customer. The bill was very high for the quality of food and service.I would never recommend this place as far better Mexican establishments exist in the area. Save you money and enjoy cantina loca or Don Juan on Harlem.
This is not great Mexican food that is more expensive than the other area Mexican restaurants. Our queso dip was cheddar cheese thrown in a bowl and melted. Horrible.I would not go back.
Good, however needs a little work. So much potential here! Stopped in for a Saturday dinner. Real nice bar area which just screams MARGARITA ! The bar tender knew how to create a smooth drink and was able to explain different types of Tequila, drinks were also served with some corn chips and salsa which the chips were good, however could of been fresher. Our table was ready, (not cleaned off yet) so even though we were at table it should of been prepped first as there were also 4 other tables empty and not prepped. Then it took a couple requests for a waitress…….Once the waitress arrived, we had to pry the information out of her to explain the menu, as we are Americans and all we know about Mexico is Corona , Jalapenos and tacos! I do not understand the terminology used in the menu, so it does not do me any good to keep reading it! Once I was able to get her to open up, she explained everything great, surprise she really KNEW the menu! I ordered the combo platter and it arrived looking very good n hot…The steak chunks were great, chicken cubes also good and guacamole was a nice blend of something good… The complaints I have are:ground beef was burnt, or sitting in hot holding pan too long. The oil used for deep frying the items need to be changed, as it imparted a burnt taste in the taco shell…. No extra sauces served or available at table, we asked and was able to get one bottle only of a pureed chipolata / adobe blend, which was good. We will go back, however I hope they read this. The place is VERY friendly, patrons and the staff make this a worthy stop.
Garbage in salsa?. We have been going since they were located on Main St, has been hit and miss as far as quality but today takes the cake. We were given our salsa in a Styrofoam cup rather than the nice black dish they normally use, so when we were done with the salsa I threw the straw wrappers in what I thought was a disposable dish and asked for some more. Lo and behold we start in on the second dish and she had just refilled the salsa on top of our garbage, so gross, and when she was told she just giggled.
Minute rice and canned beans I can do that at home
It’s just bad……is it really Mexican? It was dark, dry and bland. How do you mess up rice and re-fried beans??? I’ve been there a few times, they just have no clue what Mexican food is.
