It’s the place in EA. I am NEVER disappointed when we visit this diner. The homemade cinnamon toast is awesome (if you can’t finish it, take it home. Its awesome cold!) The coffee cup is never empty (A+) and even though I love their breakfast, there’s a LOT of good food. Good home cookin’, great service, I love Charlie’s.
I love their homemade breads, especially, their french toast! Their evening waitress is very sweet. We found our kitchen away from home.
Breakfast any time. I like stopping in here with a friend and having an omelet whenever I feel like it (my companion rarely orders breakfast at any time of day!). Simple menu, basic service, a nice clean place to come in and chat over coffee and a meal while people wander in and out. I see reviews complaining about having to pick up a bottle of ketchup from another table, but that’s the nature of this place and I guess I grew up going to restaurants where simple things like this were taken for granted. Charlie’s has been on my list for about 35 years.
Stopped here when the restaurant we had intended to go to was closed. Pleasantly surprised by the food. Had the Reuben sandwich and the turkey club. The Ruben was better-than-expected. Homemade bread is great. Service is friendly albeit a little bit slow.
Went for breakfast with my family on Small Business Saturday and the town was packed. Staff did a great job managing the wait list. Once seated, staff took good care of us: orders taken and served in a reasonable timeframe. Coffee cup always kept full 🙂 food was delicious. ..got the greek omelet and loved it . The homemade rye bread was a real treat. Kids meal portions were good and not dinky like other places. If you know what the dine r experience is supposed to be like, then you will love this place. We will definitely be back.
Food is okay, nothing special. Omelets are over priced for what you get. Very skimpy portions. Service was unattentive, and waitress gave attitude when we brought up an issue with the bill. Won’t be back
Unimpressive. The decor is cute but the service and food were unimpressive. My friends and I were seated and our orders were taken promptly. However the food was bland and the server disappeared once our orders were placed. The server acknowledged our request for condiments but never brought it to us. We eventually grabbed a bottle of ketchup off another table because we could not get the server’s attention. The server was extremely inattentive. I made the mistake of taking the server’s recommendation of ordering french toast with the homemade cinnamon bread and it was mediocre at best. My group waited 20 minutes before we could close out our check because the server disappeared and there were no other employees available. I will not be coming back.
