I was very impressed with the takeout. The General Tso’s Chicken was put together with care, the pieces of chicken were bite-sized and not too spicy, and the fried rice had egg as customary. The Hot and Sour soup was fantastic as well. They did an amazing rennovation to old Uncle John’s no. 1 too, it’s hip and warm and cozy now.
Not the place it used to be. The previous owners sold the place. They were getting up there, and looking to retire. I wish John and Cynthia nothing but the best.The current owners kept the name, and took a huge crap on it.It is not the place it used to be. Even if the menu is unchanged (it was still the same last time i was there) things look, and taste different. and not for the better.Uncle John’s gave me chinese food like i’d never had before, and was something special. that’s gone now.
