Okay food, Poor Service. Service is atrocious. We waited over an hour for a Hibachi Chef to make his way to our table to begin the show, even though we had a dinner reservation. Thank goodness for our server Michael, he remedied the situation by offering us free apps to hold us over while we waited for the chef. He apologized for the slow service, and informed us it was due to the fact they only had 3 Hibachi Chefs.It seems like the Manager/Owner did nothing to remedy the situation, or even acknowledge there was a problem with people waiting over 45 minutes for their food. This is all due to under staffing, that night there were only two servers, and three Hibachi chefs for eight Hibachi tables. Overhead another party complain that they had been waiting over an hour. I would not recommend this restaurant due to the poor management.
My favorite sushi place in Buffalo. I have been coming to Tao for the last 1.5 year and I can’t get enough of it. I eat here weekly and enjoy the quality of their sushi. My children loves the hibachi grill too and the restaurant is very children friendly. The portion of sushi is generous and I never felt rush like at Fuji II. I have had 2 office Christmas dinner here and I got my staff hook on this place.
Wonderful Place. My husband and I eat here once a month. Besides their food being awesome, the service is so prompt. Everyone in there makes you feel so special. Keep up the great work!!
Not so much…. We come in often, usually at lunch and have enjoyed our service and food. We were in last night, (Saturday). We had our regular waitress who recognized us and greeted us warmly. It was quite busy. I ordered my favorite dish, sushi, sashimi combo. I asked for no soy sauce, imitation crab or cream cheese because of allergies. The sushi roll arrived with the crab. Not wanting to complain, I picked out, do you know what this does to the integrity of a sushi roll? The real issue came with the sashimi, it all tasted the same. There was no flavor to any of it. I tried to eat it but did not enjoy it at all and left over half of my dinner uneaten. When I told our waitress, she apologized and left. The manager came over and proceeded to defend the quality of the fish! We were told the fish was fresh and there was nothing wrong with it. I expected a delicious dinner, something I have equated to Toa’s standards. I received 10% off the dish, not the whole bill. As we were leaving, I heard another couple expressing a similar complaint. Customer service is not their expertise when it comes to resolving complaints. I am very disappointed. I will not go back for the dinner hour and will think twice before spending money here again.
I’ve been there twice with my fiance and friends, and both times I have not had any complaints. The staff are very nice and the food is wonderful. However I did think the alcoholic drinks were a bit strong. This is a minor speedbump though. Andy is a wonderful chef he is downright hilarious! Very good time to be had by all here.
WoW Amazing. This place was great. I went with my mother and my 4 year old sister and had the best experience. I didnt have to wait long we had a reservation at 7:30 and were seated at 7:35. The waitress was great she was very attentive and helpful i dont even think i had an empty dish on the table for more than 2 minutes before she cleared it. The chef was AMAZING. His name was Andy he was great very funny and very entertaining plus kids love him. My little sister was mesmorized by his tricks lol. but all in all amazing restaurant.
