Sometimes you just want some eggs…. Met a friend for breakfast on a Saturday morning to talk about some business. The place was little and jammed with locals and loud and reminded me of my mother’s kitchen if my mother’s kitchen had menus.I ordered two eggs up, bacon, rye toast and coffee. Do you know what I got? Two eggs up, bacon, rye toast and coffee.Never ran out of coffee, waitresses made sure we had what we wanted, and I couldn’t have made the eggs any better.Thank you for keeping it real.
Somewhat Disappointed. I’ve had lunch at Mardee’s twice now. Both times the service was friendly but inattentive. I found the food to be average at best. This is a small neighborhood diner that I want to like, but in truth I probably won’t be back.
Staff matters. Tho I don’t eat out much, when I do the whole experience matters. The quality care of the staff is just as important as the food/price/etc. There has been a great loss at Mardee’s–the owner has decided who is more important based on -not quality of work, years of dedicaton, service to the diners or the company. But who ? and who really knows?? who needs the job more. I will not knowingly patronize (esp. more than once) an establishment that appears/plays favorites. The quality of service (relying on tips) is what I prefer and so should you. Think twice about Mardee’s.
