A real charming diamond in the rough, my wife and I love the place, we took friends of ours there on Tuesday night for dinner, they live in buffalo and hesitated due to the negative reviews,,,,, like they said, boy were we fooled , all I can say is that they do a fantastic job on every item on the menu. The service is great and the drinks are affordable. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
What’s with the negative reviews?. Yes there are some negative aspects of the River Grill but not about the food. I have never had a bad experience with the food or staff there and I go there several times every summer. The place is mobbed every weekend. And there is live music every day contrary to what one reviewer stated. The negatives I have are that the place is too small for inside dining and dancing. The music is generally too loud but great blues and the dance floor is way too small. I’ve always found the drink prices reasonable and the french fry’s are great fresh cut not frozen. If your lucky you get to park within a few paces to it but generally the parking lot is full and I have to walk a half mile to get to it. Does that sound like people are not liking it?
I hate Buffalo. I just moved to this awful city and River Grill is the one place where I don’t feel like I’m stuck here. They have really good food. Live music on the weekends. You can go and sit outside by the water and just chill. It has been my saving grace a few times. Most definitely worth the drive.
The worst experience ever!!!!!I’m so not the one to complain as long as I have a somewhat decent experience. My experience last night at river grill mas anything but at least decent!!!I ordered the surf and turf…. the price way a little high but I really wanted it so I ordered it anyways. I was splitting the dinner with my brother so we ordered extra crab legs which cost another $9. Still I would have been happy if the food was good.When the food arrived we ate the crab legs first cuz we didn’t want them to get cold plus we wanted the steak to rest to keep it nice n juicy. We finished the crab legs and moved onto the steak. Since we were splitting the steak my bro started to slice it into strips for easy distribution. I ordered the steak MEDIUM so when we out into the end of the steak and it was red in the middle I was a little concerned. But a quarter of the way through the steak the middle was raw. Like purple!!!When we told the waitress about the issue she said the would got a new steak for us. She took it back for us. Ten minutes later the came back with the same steak!!!!! With the slices all balled up like dog meat!!! I was shocked and in disbelief. We didn’t even eat the steak at this point. I at least expected the meal to be discounted when the bill came…. and if course it wasn’t!! I mean full price for a twice cooked steak that looked like dog food!!! That is unacceptable in my opinion. So I left no tip at all and told the waitress it wasn’t her fault but I refuse time pay anymore for such poor quality food.I would never go back time this establishment and will tell anyone I know to steer clear as well. The lack of customer service is beyond anything I have ever expierenced!
Bartender couldn’t pour, pina colada shrimp was nothing but breading, and they screwed up a simple baked fish. It was rubbery and tasted like aluminum foil.
Dissatisfied.. They had a band playing and we were forced away from our table after spending 50 dollars and countinuing to get drinks. They way they forced us was rude. There was different ways to handle situation and the head waitress, owner, and hostess all failed at making a great restaurant. We will never go back to this place and I hope you do not also.
Good place to go along the river. The food and service were both good and they regularly have live music in the summer.
