Worst prime rib in memory!. Sorry to say, this restaurant is way past its prime…. It was a throwback to the original Ponderosa steakhouses from housefront bathroom odors to the lowest quality ingredients my husband and I can recall having in our 20+ yrs together. I sent my prime rib back due to fat, fat, fat and couldn’t even saw into it! Second one was worse! Husband’s salmon looked and tasted like shoe leather…. In all fairness, they took my dinner off the tab and offered me free dessert…. Goood business sense. Will NOT go back
Just Okay…. My fiancee and I went here for Local Restaurant Week because they had a good-looking special: $20.12 for a soup, unlimited salad, entree, and a dessert. I made a reservation for 6pm on Tuesday evening, and we were seated promptly. The soup choices were Beef Barley or Baked Potato. French Onion was also available for $1 extra. My baked potato soup tasted good, but was mostly creamy broth. There wasn’t a whole lot of potato. The unlimited salad bar was great… Everything was fresh and tasted good. My entree was a baked potato and top sirloin, cooked medium. The steak was pink inside (as it should be), but was not moist at all. Even after slicing my steak and eating the entire thing, there was hardly any juice at all left on my plate. It was very dry, which was surprising. For dessert, I had chocolate cake.Overall, the staff was VERY polite and accommodating. No issues with the service at all. I was just left disappointed by a dry steak. I probably would not return and pay full price for this meal.
Middle of the Road Steaks. It is usually consistent here but they never seem to get your meat temperature right. I don’t know if there isn’t communication in the kitchen or the servers mess it up while they write order but every time I have gone the meat is either too bloody or over cooked. One of the only places left in Buffalo with a salad bar which I look forward to every time. They have a variety of veggies toppings and dressings to choose from. Baked potatoes are always very good especially if you get them loaded. Get the side of mushrooms and side of terriyaki if your steak or chicken have the option. Cocktail servers are friendly and always making sure your drinks are full. I might be one of the only people that like the old barn feel. Pre Fixe meal $30 for 2 people Mon – Thurs that offers many main menu items. Specials in the bar on drinks appetizers and wings. Also accept numerous coupons from entertainment and other coupon books.
WEAK!. What decade is this? I felt like I was stepping back in time when I went there. People must have enjoyed their steaks not having any flavor back in the day. I saw lots of old people and I’m wondering how they were able to chew their steaks that were super tough. Must have had to use super glue to keep their dentures in. Avoid it!
Mis-steak!. I’ve been coming here for 35 years, but this time, they messed up. I didn’t even notice until the bill came that they gave me the wrong cut of meat! I also think that their salad bar could use some upgrades. Their waitstaff is very good and I know them by name.
A bit over cooked.. My entire family and I went the other day–party of 9 that would be. I had a large porterhouse. I asked for it BLUE…which is basically a hunk of raw meat warmed up a bit. I figured if anyone would be able to do blue right it would be a steak-house. What I got was rare, 1/2 way to medium rare. It made me sad. However, stuffed banana peppers for appetizer and chocolate silk pie for desert really made me very happy. They were tasty. No one else was unhappy with their meat, and dinner over all, was good. I’ll go back, but maybe resign myself to cooked meat.
