Will not go back. The service was horrendous. The two simplest things, chicken lettuce wraps and egg drop soup were terrible. I had the shrimp with sezchuan sauce and it was ok not the best. My wife had the mongolian beef and it was so oily and greasy it wasn’t edible. For the prices and quality of food you are much better off going to PF Changs, and I am never one to suggest a chain restaurant, but this time the food is so much better.
Excellent service.food fresh with great flavor! Clean dinning room. Very friendly
Meh. For the price and atmosphere the food is not that great, dishes were very oily and not that tasty.
Some of the best General Tso’s chicken I’ve ever had!
Good chinese. Based on other reviews it seems hit and miss, but we’ve been a couple times with positive impressions. Last time was on an early Thursday night and it was fairly empty. We started with the Scallion Pancake and a bowl of Hot & Sour Soup. The pancake is slightly crisp on the outside with a bit of tooth when chewing and was tasty. I prefer Hot & Sour soup a bit more piquant than what they offered. The flavor was ok, although it seemed a tad artificially thick. For entrees we had Stir Fried Eggplant and Mongolian Beef. The sauce on the eggplant was very good and it was cooked just right. The beef was average, nothing wrong with it, but not standing out from other versions of the dish I have had. Service was prompt and orders were correct. Better than any Asian buffet or fast food you will come across. We will return for more.
What is not to love here?. I have eaten Chinese food from push carts in Hong Kong to 5 Star Chinese restaurants in San Francisco,Los Angeles, London and Toronto many times. Also Chinese in a few other countries, Asian and otherwise. Frankly, when Chinese food is good, it is great no matter where it comes from, or else it is a poor excuse greatly over Americanized. EASTERN PEARL IS A GEM HERE…If you don’t like the food at Eastern Peal, stick to one of the many buffets,or shopping mall quick food takeoutsFood is cooked to order, generous and exceptionally delicious, served quite elegantly in beautiful surroundings. Have tried a variety of dishes. I am going to have the Mapo Tofu tonight which I ordered to go while dining on superb five spic flavored roast duck today. Mr husband had General Tsos, which is pretty much the way any Chinese resturant prepares it.As for price, this is a gorgeous restaurant and the prices far more than reasonable in my opinion. The Lunch specials are the best buy in greater Buffalo. Folks, this is table service, what do you expect.Try the roast duck, $6.50 on the lunch menu. I further suggest ordering specialties (cooked to order) instead of the usual sitting around breaded chicken with xyz sauce you get everwhere. Eggplant with chicken is a great choice too.If you don’t like this rstaurant, you have never had great Chinese food.
So good!!! Best Chinese in buffalo. They actually make real Chow Mein, you know with noodles. Their shumai is good too
