Ignore the Haters. After reading the bad reviews here, I almost didn’t go to Aroma’s newest. But after having many great meals at their other restaurants, I ignored the haters and went anyway. So should you. It is the same outstanding food, service and atmosphere you would expect. Is it a little loud? Yes, but otherwise it is a beautiful place. If you go expecting enormous plates of pasta, smothered with red sauce and mozzarella (ala Banchetti’s and a hundred Italian others), you’ll be disappointed. This is sophisticated, farm-to-table food, excellently prepared. Like the chianti-braised short ribs with risotto, I had. Or the Bucatini Pollo, my wife had. This dish had their fabulous house-made chicken sausage with sundried tomato, brussells sprouts, peppercorn mascarpone, and fried leeks over bucatini pasta. Both were fantastic! See what I mean? No Chicken Parm swimming in Ragu for $9.95.Will you pay more? Absolutely! But their prices are not out of line with other similar restaurants. So do yourself a favor. Ignore the Internet trolls and enjoy this really great restaurant.

Why would we want to go back another time when it stunk the 2 previous times!!!!. OMG!!! Talk about big plate little food!!! I had to even email the ‘aroma group’ to tell them this one!! The portions there are smaller then what you would get in France!!! Im not saying I want to leave the restaurant with the notorious white foam take out box, I just want to leave feeling satisfied!! I don’t think that is being unreasonable!!! The service is good, but can’t stand seeing those rookie kitchen cooks who think they get it when they need to back to any type of culinary education. This is so sad!! We live down the street and were so excited that a new close by place was opening only to be disappointed!! The waitress did say come this Tues. they are getting a whole new menu, well lets hope they know how to cook the whole new menu and look out when the Gusto goes there to review, they will crucify this place. Never again!! Even when we got a pizza to go, we had to ‘jazz’ it up at home by adding seasoning and MORE cheese, this chef could be from England where they don’t use any type of seasoning everything about it is blan blan blan!!!! Can’t wait to see what new restaurant will be opening in this location soon being this AROMA is terrible and sadly will have no choice but to close it’s doors, we feel like we were so jipped and we don’t care for Italian wines and that’s ALL they have, wouldn’t you think they could offer a few wines from Calif, Argentina, Chile , Australia, etc. etc.!? Anyone reading this, go to YOLO, 800 Maple or Russells for a MUCH better dinner for your money!!!

Disappointed. This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Unforortunatly that was the only positive experience. We arrived at the restaurant just on time for our reservations and asked the host if we could have a quick drink at the bar and his response was that he needed our table in the next 2 hours so basically he was saying no. We sat down and it took 20 minutes for our waiter to approach us. Our meals were ok the caprese salad was a sad presentation the tomatoes were small and tasteless, the fresh mozzarella was cut into 4 tiny pieces. No fresh ground pepper was ever offered to us. Note there us no pepper on your table. The pork that one of the members of our party ordered came to him raw in the middle. Chicken was tasteless. The noise level was so bad that you had to shout so you could carry on a conversation. They need to do something about the acoustics. We couldn’t wait till the restaurant opened and now were left with complete disappointment.

Acoustics!. My wife, another couple and I went to Trattoria Aroma at North French for dinner Saturday night. The newly opened place looks beautiful. Even though it was crowded we were seated immediately by a pleasant hostess. Our first (and lasting) impression was how awful the acoustics were. We found ourselves shouting to each other and the waitress to try to be heard. Carrying on a conversation beyond a few words was a challenge. Speaking of our waitress, she was very nice and accommodating. Each of us ordered something different. I had a caesar salad without the anchovies. It was good. For my main entre I tried the scallops. I thought they were undercooked but wasn’t sure. One of our friends tried them and immediately said they seemed raw. They weren’t raw but they certainly were rubbery because they hadn’t been cooked long enough. The portion was amazingly small (three good sized scallops) for an amazingly large price which did not include my salad. As it turns out the size of the portion and its price were hardly relevant–the inability to carry on a conversation in a high end restaurant sealed the deal for us. We won’t return.I can only imagine the money that was spent in this beautiful new construction in an upscale area. Weren’t there some thoughts about the noise level and management of it?

It’s loud in there… Hard to hold a conversation in this place.
