Went there on a Friday night with the kids for dinner. My son had the Chicken French along with the soup du jour – a chicken and rice. It was the first time he’s had Chicken French and he loved it. I had a bite and the chicken was tender and juicy, the sauce was light with the perfect amount of lemon. I would highly recommend this dish. My daughter had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. It came out slightly browned on top (in other words perfect). The chunks of lobster were large bite sized and the sauce was runny and creamy. My daughter loved it – I thought she might start licking the bowl! I came with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts and onions. They were fantastic. I had the fish fry. It was pretty standard fare. It was good, but nothing really notable. What was notable was the homemade coleslaw that it came out with. OMG I took one bite expecting standard coleslaw and was blown away! Upon closer inspection, it contained chunks of Apple, banana peppers and nuts. I could have had a large bowl of the stuff. If you have dinner at the Towpath Cafe – you have to get a side of their coleslaw!All in all it was a good meal. We will be going back for lunch at some point as some of their specialty sandwiches look wonderful.
