GOOD LUCK HERE !. Experienced ”the beautiful patio” in freeport. Went after seeing a newsday feature that.they displayed a wonderful ad by a food writer named,”erica”. 29.95—-all you can eat 1 pound and 1/4 lobster, served with soup, salad, corn, mussels, clams and potatoes on wensday .nights.. Sounds great right? Well you can’t go by sound….. you have to go by sight. And after taking the family out to dinner at the patio the ad was not the sight. What was the sight was a long wait after making reservations,no bread on table, a 38 dollar drink,no stuffed lobster and NO 1 pound and 1/4 all you can eat lobster. What we got was a claw and half of a small lobster tail.soup that was ”tobasco sauce” cold out of the bottle[shame on you, chef alex].and if you wanted seconds? you’d have to wait about another 20 minutes..They want you to keep ordering those ”expensive drinks” in between while you wait for seconds. and they automatically add on a ”20 per cent gratuity” to your bill. I think their in the ”rip off’ business” but thats my personal observation.so all i can add to this first and LAST dining experience with my family at the patio is GOOD LUCK!

3 dressed up as a 9. What a waste. Really nice venue but over priced food and drinks without the quality to backup the cost.We had margaritas, which were ok, but $14 a piece was extreme. The service was mediocre. When I asked where the basil was on my pizza (one of 3 ingredients) I was told that the chef thought it wasn’t good that morning so he threw it out. Why wouldn’t you buy some more?I hope they read this and learn something from the feedback.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is one of the best spots to eat on the water on the south shore. The brick oven pizzas are amazing. There is plenty of parking since it isn’t on the nautical mile.

Pleasantly Surprised. My wife suggested that we go somewhere new for my 45th birthday. She suggested The Patio in Freeport. I had never heard of the place before and was thinking that if we were going to go to Freeport – shouldn’t we be thinking of a place on the Nautical Mile? I started reading the reviews and they were quite mixed. What I was getting out of the reviews was poor service, watered down drinks and itty bitty but pricey portions. One thing I found was true though. The prices are a tad high, but so what, I was out to have a good time as My Day only comes around once a year. Every other day is my wife’s day.We started the night at the bar. I ordered Makers on ice and was treated to a goodish portion of the bourbon. My wife ordered a citrus Cosmo and it was definitely not watered down. While we were enjoying our drinks, we watched the bartender grab 2 bottles of rum and an ice-filled jug that looked like an oversized Mason jar. She upended the rum and only stopped when the jug was half-filled with the alcoholic mixture. Pineapple juice and cranberry topped off this concoction. This was the Patio Punch. She dropped in the straw and handed the massive drink to the poor fella that would blow a 0.25 later that night if pulled over.We were seated next to the water at a small stone table, almost all of the seating is outside. It was a nice night and just right for outside eating. The restaurant has a decidedly retro feel and quite cozy. Firepits dot the dining area for a bit of ambiance. On the night we went, a live band (a good one) was belting out the tunes. The bandshell / dance floor is nicely removed from most of the dining area and the sound was not overpowering. For dinner we started off with a platter for two from the raw bar. I’m not a fan of raw oysters or clams but my wife loves ’em. I ate the cold but cooked half lobster and scallops. The platter is served as two tiers and comes with three delicious dipping sauces. Our entrees were yummy too. I ordered the strip steak which was presented over mashed potatoes and my wife ordered a brick oven pizza. Both orders were nicely portioned and tasty. My wife also ordered two glasses of sangria with dinner which explains why I had to pour her into the car to go home. For dessert I ordered the Juniors chocolate/chocolate cake and my wife got the bananas Foster. I was not expecting the slab of cake presented to me – adorned with a fiery fountain! This was no sparkler either; it was an honest to goodness Class A firework. Nice touch. My wife was able to finish her dessert, but I could not handle the death-by-chocolate on my plate. The wait staff was attentive and earned their keep. An error made by the waitress was handled quickly and professionally.Yes, it was a little pricey but we could have cut down on the drinks ($12 each).I really enjoyed my experience there and will return, maybe on a movie night (Tuesdays all summer). In conclusion:Great service, strong drink and good portion size away from the crowded Nautical Mile.

Dissapointing. The Patio is located behind a motel, behind the parking lot. You actual have to walk past the motel rooms, you get to see the rooms inside, 1980 yuck dcor. One thing I found personal offensive was that an equipment trailer was apparently permanently parked in the handicapped spot closest to the entrance. We were there for a family event with my 85 year old mother and she had to walk from the back of the parking lot.We visited on a Tuesday, which is their Movie night, nice concept, big screen with ample speakers around the venue . They offer a prefix menu for $30 and free popcorn and candy. After our order was taken I requested the popcorn and candy. We were told the candy was delivered with our check. The popcorn never arrived. (The place was half empty)Quick over view- The food is grossly overpriced for what you receive, even on the prix fix and the gallon jug drinks are a total rip-off. We travel extensively and go the local beach venues on a regular basis, and this is by far the worst value for your dollar around. The property is nice but not spectacular, typical marina view with a cozy outside area and similar inside area. Hip stylish look, but I could not really get the vibe because of the number of folks there. A few 20ish guys and several groups of 40 to 50ish folks, No single ladies at that time. Very possibly much better on weekend nights as the place was recommended by a bartender at a place we frequent as the new hot spot. (PS I am tough on food and food cost as I am a CIA trained chef with 20 years experience)I ordered the Lobster roll as an entre and the calamari as an app. The Lobster roll was very small, especially considering that they charge $25 for it. There was only about 4 ounces of lobster mostly consisting of indiscernible little mushy things; the only identifiable pieces were two tiny pieces of knuckle meat. No claw meat or heaven forbid tail meat at all. With lobster being at the lowest prices in decades ($4.00 per pound for 1 and lobster) this was a disgrace. All that said the dressing for the salad was good. The calamari was very good but the portion was the smallest I have ever seen in a restaurant. It came in a tiny box; about 2.5inches by 2.5 inches by 4 inches, that they also serve the free popcorn in. To add insult to injury they put two lemon wedges in the container underneath the calamari so they would not have to fill it. Its a shame because the calamari was really tasty and the two sauces they served it with were very good. The menu price for its $16, totally insane. My sister in law had the Uptown Mac N Cheese which cost $28 and is a $5 surcharge on the Pri Fix. The portion was large and the cheese part was good but again they were very very stingy with the seafood. No value there at all.My wife had the Classic Neapolitan which was $14 which was very good but very over priced for a 10 inch pie which probably cost the about $2 to make. The Chicken Pops were very good but 5 for $15 was a little over priced, but not quite as bad as the rest of the menu, (they are a lot of work to do right and these were very nice)The thing that annoyed us most was the gallon jug of margaritas for $38, a total rip off. Shared it with my sister and sister in law. I had arrangements for my wife to drive home but we didnt even get close to a buzz, so I drove. Not only was there no booze in it, all ice, but also we had to pour it ourselves because of the inattentive wait staff. All in all Id say the place is a pass, the biggest advantage to it is its a quick hit off the Meadowbrook compared the rest of places on the Nautical mile and parking was easy on the night we were there (might be more difficult on a weekend, as it was the lot was full.Id recommend hitting Maliblue instead. MUCH better value ($2 beers at the bar and drinks with alcohol in them for $9) much more reasonable prices more reasonable food prices and live music, unless rain is possible then they cancel the
