Better than average burger joint. I will admit here and now that I do not frequent fast food burger joints. This is a place where I will however get a burger or a burger salad and enjoy this type of fast food that you can take out. Its sort of a chipotle type burger place.
Smashburger is SMASHING! Freshest Food. I went to Smashburger with my best friend around 3pm on a Saturday and IT WAS POPPIN’! From the moment we walked in, the amazing aromatic smell of the food being cooked made us excited to try it out. The classy, chic and modern architecture makes Smashburger immediately stand out from the other burger joints around. We loved the large flatscreens behind the cashier that displayed the menu, which has SO much to choose from.After we ordered our lunch, they gave us a number that we placed on our table until the server brought the food to us when it was ready.My friend ordered the Big Smashburger classic with Avocado, Sauteed Mushrooms and Tzatziki sauce – an exotic touch to a classic burger! (we’ve never seen that as a sauce option, she loved it!) The burger was mouthwatering for me to see her enjoy, I am definitely ordering that in the future! I ordered the Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad with the Veggie Black Bean Burger on top of the salad. I can easily say it was one of the best salads I’ve had, as every element was flavorful and scrumptious. The salad was filled with fresh spinach, goat cheese, raisins, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. SO YUMMY AND FRESH! The black bean burger was an amazing addition to the salad as well! We also ordered the Sweet Potato Smashfries, Haystack Onions, Fried Kosher Pickles and Veggie Frites. All were hot and delicious when they arrived at our table. The sweet potato smashfries were absolutely amazing. The haystack onions were a healthier alternative to onion rings (and more tasty). The fried kosher pickles were ADDICTING! We ordered two more to go!! And the Veggie Frites were great, it was so nice to have a refreshing and crisp vegetable dish in our lunch. I am ABSOLUTELY coming back to Smashburger very soon, and can’t wait for its future locations to open! Everything was finger-licking declicious, A lovely lunch experience, and the price for everything we ordered was incredible!
Smashburger has arrived on Long Island. I really wanted to try the place, I heard such good things about it. Sorry, but I just didn’t like it. Burger was a bit on the dry side – if you’re using lean angus beef you have to do SOMETHING to keep it moist. Regular fries were good, but fried pickles and haystack onions were very salty. I liked the cool blue ultramodern decor but the acoustics — place was so noisy! Didn’t try the shakes, but my dining companion was thrilled to find bottled Stewart’s sodas. We will probably give this place another try, but bext time I’ll order my burger with extra sauce.
