Truly Parisian. Le Gavin has a wonderful menu of crepes, sandwiches, salads, and pastries at reasonable prices. The baristas know what they’re doing and serve up drinks in beautiful signature bowls( bowls of hot chocolate is a good sign). Be forewarned however, the cafe takes only cash and the owners aren’t so friendly… a true experience perhaps?
C’est un petit coin francais. Le Gamin is a charming bistro for casual eating, excellent cafe au lait, wonderful sandwiches, salads and passing some time of day wishing you were on the continent. I haven’t had the crepes but I hear they are wonderful. michel
Rude and Condescending. This is one of the most unpleasant restaurants I have ever been to. The food is fine but the service is mean and disdainful. I’m polite and a nice person and I can honestly tell you that I have never been treated as badly as I have been at Le Gamin Country in Hudson. The owner makes absolutely sure that the customers understand what an inconvenience they are. The service is slow and the staff follow the owners lead and behave with indifference.
RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. The French aren’t stereotyped as rude and arrogant for nothing! The owners/chef of this restaurant fit the bill perfectly! Do NOT, I repeat do NOT go to this restaurant unless you want to be insulted and demeaned. Why was I insulted and demeaned? Because I had the nerve to suggest that the quiche I was served wasn’t entirely cooked. You would not believe what ensued after that. The female owner sneered that I had already eaten half of it. Yes, I had. I was trying to figure out if it was cooked or not, you idiot! I even asked my companion to try it and tell me what she thought before I made my complaint. Instead of trying to make the situation better, she and the cook (also an owner) told me that I didn’t know what a properly cooked quiche was. Arrogant idiots. Unbelievable. Heaven forbid anyone complain about their food! DO NOT frequent this establishment! You will only encourage them to treat customers like dirt. They don’t have the vaguest interest in or idea of how to treat people. They should go back to their native country and take their crappy, French attitude with them.

Superbon, petite cafe!. J’aime Le Gamin!After a vacation to France and Italy, it’s hard not to come home and compare your favorite American coffee and/or breakfast joint to any sidewalk cafe you visited on your trip. Le Gamin holds up nicely! The traditional french breakfast and anytime of day egg dishes and crepes are fantastic. Why Hudson, NY? Who knows? But if you’re looking to take your senses on a little vacation, a visit is definitely in your future. My wife and I split an egg and sausage crepe, sat on a bench by the open, garage door window and whiled away the morning talking softly, people watching and reading the paper. The food was fresh, well prepared and flavorful. And the coffee, superb.
