Great local place in the north country. The burgers and fries are excellent. The food is better than most. The prices are fair.Of course the staff is friendly and efficient.Sure beats the franchise burger places.Definitely will go back.
really hit or miss place. have been there 5 or 6 times and had some great times with good food and great company. last time thou was over the top. walked in and it didn’t seem all that crowded but had to wait to get a chair at the bar maybe 10 minutes or so. bartender didnt seem to even notice i was there and several other waitress’s that were behind the bar just chatting didnt seem interested in selling me a beer. finally did get a beer and a seat to eat some wings (it was wing night) and some fries. once i finally placed my order (took maybe 20 minutes) i figured i would wait maybe 15 minutes to get my order, well it took at least 30 and then it wasn’t correct. bartender did apoligize but didnt really seem to care to much. food this time was nothing to write home about. overall the service horrible , the food was average and the crowd really not that friendly that night. seemed kinda like you had to be one of the locals to get good service not a out of towner.
Very disappointed. Need to edit my earlier review of Barley Pub because something has changed and it is not the same restaurant I raved about last year. Wouldn’t edit my review if it had just been one bad night but our last couple visits have been very disappointing and last night was the last straw. Their steaks are incredible and, with the increase in beef prices, it is understandable that they have raised their prices. However, along with the price increase, it seems like the quality has drastically decreased. Our salad was wilted and much smaller. The baked potato had to be leftover from the day before because, even though we were there at 5:00, the potato was over baked, cold in spots, brown near the skins, and the white of the potato was gray. The servers are still great but were overworked with no help from the owners or management who just stood there or ran around looking bewildered. This restaurant has been our favorite go-to place because it’s difficult to find a restaurant up here where they serve something other than pizza or pasta but looks like we’ll be finding another Friday night favorite.
