OMG! Have recently eaten in San Francisco and New York City, and this rivals anything I’ve had there! Shocking for a small town between Oswego and Watertown. Very busy, for good reason, so be patient. The bar drinks are very good, too. Relax and enjoy!

Great food!. We had just settled in at the local RV park, Willows on the Lake, and decided to take our chances at Ryan’s Lookout. We passed it on our way in. There is a narrow covered porch up front but as the restaurant is situated right by busy HWY 3, we opted to sit inside. It was very crowded with large tables so we sat at the bar (and it was a Tuesday). The bartender was hustling drinks so we were afraid we had made a mistake by sitting there. However, within minutes she took our drink orders and soon after our dinner orders. Bread and family style salad was delivered promptly. Both were really good. The salad had olives, pepperoncini, tomatoes, cucumbers and croutons with a complimentary Italian dressing. We both ordered specials – haddock and shrimp and scallop pasta. Both servings were huge – plenty leftover for lunch the next day. The haddock was served in a cream sauce with capers as the highlight. Only complaint is that it was a little on the cool side. The pasta was served in a cream sauce with huge shrimp and medium sized scallops. It was all delicious! We paid $68 for two meals and 3 alcoholic beverages (that also included the tip). We would definitely return!
I am foodie and love the dining experience. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant several weeks ago while we were camping at the Willows on the Lake rv park, which is also excellent. The restaurant wait staff is excellent, Nd the door is well prepared. I had the walleye fish entree and it was excellent. I highly recommend Ryans Nd will be going back soon. Take a break from it all enjoy a great meal with friendly people and go camping while your visiting the North Country.
