Disappointed. Living most of my life in NYC I know my standards are high when it comes to Italian Bakeries….but was shocked when I walked in Romano’s. Nothing on display and a run down store. Since it was the day before Easter I expected a variety of Easter standards. The Italian cookies were a disappointment and sold at a high price. Nothing I couldn’t have gotten out of a box at BJ’s..I bought 3 cannolis and three sfogliatelle. The sfogliatelle were tiny….smaller than a New York miniature. The taste was OK. The cannolis were filled right there. The shell was crisp but the filling had a cream cheese taste. This pastry store would last about 2 weeks if it were in NYC….

I attended a bridal shower yesterday and have to post that we were served the best tasting cake I ever had. Not only I but the entire gathering if women and children loved the cake. Honestly the best. Hats off to Romano’s. you nailed it. 😉

Always the best. We always shop at Romano’s. I was happy to see them at the Italian festival. I tried the pasticiotti from there for the first time. It was the best! It was very moist, the ricotta was creamy with many chocolate chips in it. The next day I bought a pasticiotti from Gino’s. It was awful.

Romano’s bakery. For so long, I’ve been looking for a great Italian bakery, and finally I have found it !!! It was a surprise to see that it was there in my own neighborhood ! The Genoese and the napoleons are to die for !!! Absolutely excellent, reasonable, and always friendly service !

Delicious family recipe deserts and pastries. Friendly helpful service. Convenient location and fair prices for the quality.

Many years of experience. It saddens me to hear that someone had a bad experience with this fantastic bakery. I have been going there since about 2001, back when it was on Delaware, for all my bakery needs. This place is amazing. From their cakes to the pastries (oh God the pastries) this place has everything a fat kid needs. Try the Mochas, they are phenominal! As for the customer service, I’m surprised to hear someone complain. The family owned business is full of smiling, happy people. Especially that Linda girl 😉 I’ll get her number some day:) Anyways, don’t ever doubt that these people know what their doing. The food speaks for itself. GO THERE!

Worst cake ever!. I called on a Friday to order a cake for Sunday, and specifically asked if they had the time to make a cake for my son’s Baptism. I was told yes, so I proceeded to place an order for a white cake with butter cream frosting, and a gold cross. I was told the cake would be ready any time Sunday between 9-1:30 pm, (their hours for the day) and that it would be $45.00.My husband went to pick the cake up and was told that there was no order for us. He called me, and I told him the same thing above. My husband then was told that I didn’t call until Friday at 3:00pm (OK, thought, you didn’t have an order for us? And I specifically asked if you had time to make a cake and was told yes!) So he then had to stand there, while cake was taken from the freezer and slapped together to make our cake. So, while this was the first time I had personally ordered a cake from Romano’s, it wasn’t the first time I have had their cake. In the times that I have had it, it had been decent. I guess I had higher expectations. When I cut into the cake it was stiff, and the layers began to fall apart. When I bit into my piece of cake I was mortified. This cake was awful, and now all of my guests were eating this horrible tasting cake. The frosting was one of the worst I’ve ever had, it was thick and too sweet. Definitely not any butter cream I’ve ever had. After getting a frozen, slapped together cake, that tasted awful, I will never buy a cake from Romano’s again. I will try somewhere else next time! I’ll even go to Wegman’s before I go here again!
