Southside has gone down hill. I grew up in Lindenhurst and have eaten at Southside many times, so I know just what to expect. Its not fancy, but the seafood is normally very good. I went last night, after not being there in about a year and was very disappointed. The counter help was awful and one of the women was entirely rude. They forgot some of or order and then served the appetizers at the same time as the entrees. We could not fit our meals on the table. The food was also not up to par. I guess I could have tolerated all of this a little more, if the prices had not gone up so much. Self serve, bad service, mediocre food…dinner for 4, almost $140. I will not go back.
[email protected]. Southside Fish & Clam was once my favorite seafood restaurant to frequent. However recently took people in my family there and I was really disappointed. The menu has decreased and the portions have also decreased in size. I had built this place up so much to the people I was going there with and what a disappointment I had. I will definitely be searching for a new seafood restaurant in the area.
Is the is the unofficial heavyweight champion of seafood restaurants., casual atmosphere plus outstandingly fresh sea makes rare and welcome and welcome, n and welcome combination. Can’t wait till I go again!
Fresh. Very fresh seafood, you can truly taste the flavor of everything. They definitely have a huge turn over too, always crowded. Doesn’t look fancy and there’s no wait stuff, but there’s a big dining room for you to sit at. Their cocktail sauce is actually better than most places, but I wish they made their own tartar sauce instead of giving that packaged kraft stuff. That would’ve made it even better. But the seafood is so fresh, that it really doesn’t matter where the sauce was made.
Great food. Inexpensive and very fresh. no atmosphere whatsoever but who cares? we had a shellfish and pasta dish and an incredible lobster bisque. yum.
Worst seafood on Long Island! Isn’t it standard practice to scrub and remove beards from shellfish before cooking them? Well, apparently that isn’t the case at Southside Fish & Clam in Copiage. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM THE MUSSELS AT SOUTHSIDE FISH & CLAM, unless you’re a connoisseur of fine beards.
McLobster. Great starter seafood place. I dont like seafood but I liked this place, no gristle, no unknown fishy parts and it was super cheap. if you’re looking for someplace for someone who needs to wet their whistle on sea food this is pretty good.
