Fortified by an El Presidente Breakfast. The misses and I had breakfast at El Presidente in the Heights this morning. We took the opportunity to eat Dominican breakfast specialties, of course. The obvious choice for me was tres golpes with mang as the central course. The tres golpes (three hits) are eggs, fried cheese, and salchichon frito (fried salami). This is standard.There are variations such as longaniza replacing salchichon. I was happy with my desayuno on this snowy morning. My caf con lech was very good. My wife chose the mondongo, which is a bowl of beef tripe, and white rice. She was happy too. The hot chocolate was to her liking.
Slow, disinterested service by a lethargic waitress dampened by experience. Granted I was here on a Sunday afternoon. I hear it’s a happening place thru the week. Chicken quesadilla was served cold, but tasty. Had to track down other waitresses for refills ( that never came) and ketchup.

YUMMY!!!. What can I say. Food is absolutely delish-delivery available-fast service. Since I live in the neighborhood, convenience is key-I highly recommend this restaurant. =)
