The worst assistance ever! My ladies & I arrived and no one was there to assist. We walked a little in and some women took us to the other side and has the nerve to place us near the bathroom with some ugly discombobulated table that wasn’t even standing straight. We tell her if we could have different seats and she says there is no more seats with an unpleasant attitude, and with our eyes we see way more seats. So we all decided to leave before we started a scene and made this place look worse. This place has changed immensely! Ever since they got their fame, the employees want to act up, and since they messed with us , we will hit them right back.
Diner. I went to this restaurant on Tuesday night at about 8pm. My daughter-in-law ordered mofongo w/ pernil. When the orders came to the table we were told there was no more pernil so she had to make another selection and wait while our food was on the table. The churrasco was pre grilled and stacked up in the window and finished off as people orderd. I think the shrimp I ordered were from frozen. I WON’T EAT HERE AGAIN
BEST PAELLA EVER!!!. This is a must every time we are in the city. The food is AWESOME! I always oder the Paella. At times I have ordered something else for dinner and STILL got it to take home. The staff is very friendly and engaging. Drinks are super. the only thing I didn’t like about the location was that one has to go all around the by the bar to get the to ladies… Other than that, I ove it!
If you don’t have the balls to visit the LIBRE patria de Quesqueya, visit Casa de Mofongo. I left Le Capital, the day before, hanging at Mofongo made me feel like I never left…. UPTOWN, you got a new visitor who used to hang downtown West Side….Regreso La Republica, uno samana, possible dos samana….
On a jam-packed saturday night, this place is pretty damn nice. With its ‘rich spanish lady living room’ decor two levels and a decent sized bar… i love it. The music is blasting, and the waiter really cant hear what your ordering, but they managed to get our order right, the coronas’ could have been a bit cooler, the food was great! … I had ‘bistec a la parilla con tostones’ well cooked with a hint of garlic flavor, and the tostones crunchy! but other than: if your comfortable with blaring music, dimmed lights, 25 minute wait for your food order, and the next table 4 inches away from yours… this place is great! … We got our table right away, but you might have to wait 15-20 minutes in a packed house weekend.
Aight. So I’m not into mofongo at aaall- so why check out this establishment? Ye ask….’cause my brother loooves mofongo & I had to oblige. He & his date said the mofongo was ‘aaaight’. I ordered the carne guisada with rice & beans (my fav latin dish to order at any ‘spanish’ food place) & my b/f ordered the chicharron de pollo. My food wasn’t bad, I’ve had better- portions were decent. The b/f said his food was good & he was full at the end of it all (which says a lot, ’cause he has a ‘hearty’ appetite, to say the least).I found the place to be a little too loud (read: volume fit for a club) for a place where you go to have dinner & possibly, maaaybe want to have a convo with your group- but hey, it’s the Heights- what do you expect? It’s always party time everywhere & anywhere around there, no matter what’s going on.$80 total w/tip for 4 people w/alcohol included, not bad at all for a 1st time visit to try out the joint. Would I go back? Probably not- I know I can get the same exact order for almost 1/2 the price somewhere else.
Good well rounded environent. Mofongo is cooked to perfection. Excellent place to have casual dinner with freinds. Monday nights and Thrusday nights they have open mic karaoke with prizes for the winner
