Dominican Food Heaven. My cousin married into a Dominican family and she introduced me to Dominican food. Wow, it was amazing. Several years ago I was in Washington Heights and I asked around for the best Dominican restaurant and everyone I asked said that El Malecon was the best and they were right. The Mofongo was perfection on a plate. The rotisserie chicken was very tender and tasty. If there is a perfect way to make rice and beans, they have figured it out at El Malecon. I think the Sangria really topped off the meal. My dining partner and I agree that this was a wonderful experience.Oh, and just a couple of short blocks from the train.

CHICKEN. The roasted chicken is outstanding. The chicken soup is for Gods. Considering the price (cheap) this place is great. Tho, you don’t wanna go there for a romantic date – its latin american atmosphere is not made for that.

Yum yum good. Malecn restaurant had the best mofongo I’ve tried in the area buy far. The service was great considering my guest arrived later than I did( parking is tough in the area). I also enjoyed their sangria which had lots of yummy fruit. The menu has many choices and I found the prices affordable.

OVER CHARGED CREDIT. I recently visited the malecon restaurant in the bronx location near west 231 street. The food was very delicious with one exception which was disappointing for me and my family. I our food bill was a total of $42 not including the tip, which was paid in cash. My wife was paying her bill online and noticed that the charged was for a total of $50. She immediately called the restaurant and spoke with an employee and he stated that the mistake was not on the restaurant ,but on the Bank. The bank was informed us they do not enter the amount, the restaurant does. After a brief conversation with the bank they told us to called the bank on Monday to process the claimed. The reason for writing this blog is make everyone aware that you could have been over charged and not know it.

Best Dominican Food in NYC, seriously.. If you are looking for authentic Dominican food, look no further, El Malecon is the place to be. Enjoy rice and beans with succulent chicken, the absolutely delicious mashed plantain dish Mofongo, or a variety of other Dominican specialties at a very affordable price. There’s no shortage of Dominican restaurants in the Heights, but none seems to come close to El Malecon’s quality.
