Had some time between appointments and we came for an early lunch. This place has been here forever and sort of feels that way.A Cob Salad was prepared nicely and the dressing was delicious.Hot Meat Loaf sandwich with Truffle Fries and a Pickle slice was a very large sandwich portion but was mediocre and a little too much tomato sauce on one end for my taste.Very dark, obviously old, interior which kind of feels a little confining.I guess they want to reflect the restaurants old character.

Great Food, Needs a good cleaning. Food is great but I can no longer get my wife to go because it is dusty, shabby and dirty. Needs some updating. plastic vines on walls are gross and dusty. Please clean because I love the food.

One Visit Too Many. We recently visited the Cabin Restaurant on a Sunday evening. We dine out approximately 3-4 times per week; this was one of the worst dining experienes we have encountered in years. We ordered the Mustard Chicken and the Maple/Horseradish Pork because of the description on the menu. We also upgraded the dinner to include two cesear salads. We ordered wine and beer and waited. Waitress asked if we wanted bread, we said yes, but it never came. About 10 minutes later, the waitress arrived with our main course. We told her we did not get out salad yet and sent the main course back. We then ordered another round of drinks. The salad arrived with our drinks; the beer was substantially lighter in color than the lager I previously ordered. The waitress disagreed; finally returned with a small glass of the correct lager for me to taste, finally admitting she took the wrong beer, she blamed the bartender pulled the wrong lever. The main courses arrived; chicken had no hint whatsoever of mustard flavor and the pork (a processed slab of meat) had a non-descript brown gravy and no horseradish taste. Very disappointed as we were looking for a new restaurant – no apparent management – waitress very inexperienced. The best part of the dining experience was stringbeans.

Rustic Charm. I remember this place as being the Log Cabin not sure why the name change, it still resembles a log cabin (at least as much of a log cabin look as your going to get in Westchester). You walk into the dining area which kind of has a rustic charm with the big stone fireplace and log walls (or at least made to look like logs), wood floors, ok so ignore the big screen tv off to the right. I wasn’t really expecting much since I don’t like one of the restaurants this group owns but I have to say for the most part I was pleasantly surprised.. Waitress was very nice, she may have forgotten one return trip after serving our food to see how things were but other then that she was attentive and engaging. We started with the buffalo wings, they were plump and full of meat and just the right heat, I forgot to order them extra crispy (which I usually do) so they could of been cooked a little longer but all in all they were very good. But if there are more then 2 of you eating them you may want to get 2 orders, we only got 7 wings for $7.95, I feel they could be a little more generous then that. (It’s $1.13 per wing if your keeping track) DH got the pea soup and he enjoyed that. I got a ceasar salad, which was small but fine. Entrees included the Black Angus Meatloaf which DH enjoyed very much, he said it was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and very tasty and he got a nice portion for $12.95. DS got the cedar planked salmon for $15.95 which again was a nice portion and well cooked. I got the sliced steak and I opted for the smaller portion but it was plenty . It was seasoned nicely and came with an abundance of mashed potatos and green beans. The only disappointment of the evening was the pumpkin pecan pie, just not that good. Will go back again, maybe on a Tuesday when they have Trivia night at the bar, which by the way serves a nice sangria.
