I LIVE for Angelo’s tuna pizza. It’s amazing. And tonight I discovered that they offer gluten-free personal pies…so I ordered a personal tuna gluten free pie. So happy. It feels good to have a place where my husband can have awesome Sicilian and I don’t get jealous. Try it. You’ll love it.
Skip the veal. Skip the veal. Had the veal picata. The portion was small and the veal was tough. I even complained to the owner. Won’t go back. Pizza only here. Many good places nearby. Skip this one.
Like Silvio’s, only different…. You know how you have the snooty overpriced Italian places in Westchester, and you’re sometimes in the mood for their exorbitant prices and ‘tude? And sometimes you ain’t?Well, when you ain’t, head on over to Gianfranco’s. Or Silvio’s in Thornwood.But about Gianfranco’s — the service couldn’t be nicer when we went on a Saturday, but it was quite late and it was quite empty. I read about their having a tuna slice, but we didn’t have pizza. We had calamari, and salad, and an entree that I can’t recall right now, and wine, and it was just totally enjoyable.The price was right, the service was outstanding, the ambiance was human, the food was quite good — they brought bread almost immediately and unlike the crazy places in Westchester, they didn’t charge for it, imagine charging for bread? — and best of all, the parking was free!Come on, if you’re in the burbs, patronize this place, and don’t leave us to the likes of La Riserva or Lusardi, puhleeze!
