We have been coming here for years when we venture north and we stopped by for lunch on an early Fall afternoon.As usual, we were not disappointed.Mussels in a Garlic Whit Wine sauce, came with Crostini an were delicious, Home made, fresh Orecchiette with Broccolini, Hot Sausage, Garlic Olive oil Tuscany sauce was incredible.Pappardelle, also fresh made, in a Tomatoes, Capers, Kalamata Olives, Anchovies, Garlic, and a touch of marinara in a Putanesca sauce was just as good.As always a good Pinot Grigio added to the dishes.It’s worth the drive to come here.
Slow service and mediocre food. We waited 15min to sit when there were open tables. We were there almost 2 hours for just a salad and dinner, kept asking where is our food and didn’t even get an apology or what can we do for you. The restaurant was only half full. The owner asked how is everything was and I said we didn’t get our food yet, he said they were very busy and crowded and had a crazy day. I thought-aren’t we customers too? The shrimp scampi was bland and prime rib was stringy. This restaurant was good over 10 years ago but not now. They didn’t bother to offer us an apology or comp even a glass of wine while we waited. Maybe I’d give it another shot but that’s it.

Two friends and myself – October 5, 2014 Dinner.I understand this restaurant is under new management 🙁 🙁 :-(chicken franchise was overpowered with LEMONfilet mignon trio was smothered in sauce, BIG MISTAKEraspberry swirl cheesecake was GUMMY and no raspberry!Waiter, RUDE!! Manager, BEYOND RUDE and definitey not listening! AND Mansger allows his own ‘bar friend’ to be totally obnoxious and rude to his customer!!!!! I was shocked!!!!To think I still left the waiter a tip, I must be crazy! I should have left a penny, and NOT paid for that gummy cheesecake!!!OVERALL EXPERIENCE was NEVER GOING BACK!!!
The food here is great. My family and I go everytime we visit New Paltz. You can tell all the dishes are made fresh, and the portions are huge! Service is more than pleasing, and they even have patio seating with an outdoor bar! My wife and I love their mojitos (made with their own fresh mint!)
Just OK. I can get better Italian for less money. The atmosphere is lovely, but the overbearing wait staff killed it pretty early into my meal.
Smells like really stinky cheese.
