Old World style. This is a neighborhood restaurant that when you walk in there are many regulars but they are welcoming to all. You walk into a small bar area, the bartender is very friendly and makes a very good cocktail. There are no seats at the bar so you really don’t want to have to wait to long so make sure to call ahead before you go. The restaurant is in a very long bowling alley shape building. It’s old world in that it has the white table cloths and jacketed waiters who are very attentive but yet overall it has a very casual feel to it. Most patrons were casually dressed the night I went. We split some appetizers such as a stuffed portobello mushroom, stuffed with crabmeat and I forget what else, it was very large and very good, only complaint was that it was topped with bacon, which would have been a real plus if they had remembered to cook the bacon first, it looked like raw bacon tossed on top. We also have figs and prosciutto, which was fine but they just cut up some figs and placed a couple slices of prosciutto over it, not much in the way of presentation and I think if they had wrapped the prosciutto and grilled it, I think the flavors would have popped more. My entree of shrimp scampi was cooked very nice with a side of escarole which was tender and flavorful. Others were happy with their meal although the lasagna was served in one of those silver baking trays and the person who got that prefers it on a dish with extra sauce. The entrees were reasonably priced and I think the drinks were around $9.00 a drink. BTW, they sing a great Happy Birthday!!
