I only go here 2-3x a yr out of convenience and usually 2 out of 3 visits are bad. The menu doesn’t change much, the service is slow and the same things on the menu that used to be good are now bad. I guess it depends on the chef. If I ask specially, twice, to leave out an ingredient them the wait staff should check that it’s not in my food as it was. Overpriced food, owners have an attitude and if they do see you they won’t say thanks and goodnight like an owner should. One visit we waited over 2 hrs for food and they said oh yes we’re busy with a party. Well they could have told us they were too busy to serve anyone else. There are plenty of other better restaurants around, skip this one.
Not the place to go. The owner of this restaurant was always seemed to be on the verge of a tantrum or worse but back in the day it was worth it because the food was so good – no more! I hadn’t been here in more than a few years and I won’t be back.
Not What It Used To Be. I went to Painter’s the other night after living out of town for years. This used to be a wonderful place with good food, interesting art and a friendly home town atmosphere. NOT ANY MORE!My food wasn’t even mediocre – I couldn’t eat it. There were interesting sounding new items on the menu but I ordered my old favorites. What happened to Isabella’s Shells? It used to be a delicious comforting pasta dish. NO MORE! Bitter sauce and I don’t know what that meat was. My dining partner had the focaccia which at one time was a lucious and savory appetizer or a meal that went great with red wine. The topping was dry, the focaccia was obviously not house made and we really couldn’t eat it. I was charged $2.00 for a club soda and then charged for a refill!Next time I’m in town I’ll go somewhere else.
Quality, Fresh, Innovative. Always fresh ingredients composed into innovative dishes. Seasonal menu. Indoor and outdoor dining. Great service. Consistent quality. Eclectic setting. Love it!
One of the best local places for many years. Great bar menu with modern takes on regional favorites. Dinner menu has a something for everyone. Walls decorated with dozens of paintings by local artists.
