I bought a Key Lime Pie today at Grandma’s, which has always been delicious, but this time it wasn’t the same. The filling didn’t taste homemade like before & no more graham cracker crust either. Not to mention the place looked like a ghost town (only 2 tables were taken) compared to the line of people waiting to be seated I used to encounter. Looks like Grandma lost her touch.

Grandma’s Country Pie is a place to go with good, local, friends who have an urge for dessert. Not just any dessert, but by far the tastiest and widest selection of pies in the area. Dinner and lunch is unimpressive, but as far as the pies go, Grandma’s can’t be beat. One slice is delicious, but when the menu carries of 20 types of traditional and unique pies, two, three, four is not out of the question. By the way, Grandma’s does not cut its pies into mere 8ths, you get a 6th of a pie monster with each order. My favorite on the menu is on the traditional side, an open-faced strawberry pie topped with fresh whipped cream. I always ask for extra and the staff obliges. From the bottom up, the pie crust is buttery and flaky. Next comes vanilla pudding, very thick and chilled, not too sweet. The strawberries have changed from time to time. Best is when the strawberries are fresh with nothing added. Twice the fresh strawberries were covered in some type of red jelly-like preserves which made the pie slightly less delicious. Then comes the mountain of whipped cream, made fresh in the store.Other good choices are Napoleon Apple, Banana Split, and any of the Dutch Crumb Pies.
