Good Bar Food. Great little outdoor area in a small courtyard out back.Had Guinness mussels , very tasty, in a kind off cream sauce. The wife had a Fish burger and I had the Quiet Man burger, both were delicious. We are going to return for dinner, the menu looks very inviting.
Nice unexpected place. Went to the Quiet Man and jokingly asked about outside seating. To my surprise there was outside seating in the back of the restaurant. It was nicely decorated and reminded me of small restaurant s in the city. Loved the seating, didn’t feel like you were in Peekskill anymore. We had shepherds pie and it came to the table steaming hot and barely cooled down for 15 minutes. Ate half and was stuffed. When we left the place was starting to get crowed but it was a nice warm restaurant with friendly service.
Absolutely awful service. I was hoping the food would make up for the service. Nope. Flavor less burger with hard pieces of something in the meat. Greasy fish n chips. It wasn’t even that busy when we first arrived. Never again!
Sunday Evening. We had a very nice evening at the Quiet Man Public house on this Sunday evening-late dinner. We sat right away, not crowded, and were greeted in a quick and courteous manner. The Jazz Band was a little bit much for dining in so we opted for the courtyard. Service was a bit slow considering they weren’t real busy but our group of four enjoyed our meals. I think I was most pleased by the perfect pour of my Harp & Guinness 1/2 and 1/2!Bangers & Mashed were tasty, Irish Nachos were a fun variation, my wife enjoyed her cherry soup and Chicken-Chipotle wrap (she said best she’s had). But for me, it was all about the pour! I’ll be back.
Great Pub. Great time last night. Feels like a real Irish local pub. 30 year olds to 50 somethings shoulder to shoulder. Beautiful Bar. Fish and chips were good and the Lamb burger impressed. Fries were plentiful, but salty. Tried Magner’s Irish Cider and Smithwick’s Red; both were good. Finished up with a Guinness. Live local band packed the house, worth the 30 min wait (we didn’t have reservations)
Won’t be back for the food!. Atmosphere of this place is very much like pubs in Ireland. Bartenders are great and seems like a nice place to get a pint with friends. However, don’t even try to eat here. Walked in at 6:05PM and was told there would be a thirty minute wait. No problem I said to myself and I made a reservation for 6:35PM. I came back at the required time and was told it would be a few minutes longer as our table for two was not ready yet. We finally got to sit down at 7:20PM. More than twice as long than the hostess originally stated! I ordered buffalo wings to start followed by bangers and mash. The wings were dripping with grease and didn’t taste that good. As for the bangers and mash, they were smotherd in an onion gravy that was revolting. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made last month.I do give the waiter very high marks as he was timely, acccurate and friendly..
Finally, a Westchester pub with great Irish food, beer and whiskey. The warm atmosphere is complemented by Irish music and hospitality from the front door to the beer garden out back. Don’t be in a hurry as the food is made to order and always great. Six visits and not one bad dish, love it!
