Outstanding mexican. Outstanding fresh fish soup appetizer for only $4 and red snapper in choice of wonderful sauces for lunch with rice and fresh veggies only 12.95. Three other family members had more traditional fajitas and taco dinners that they too said we’re exceptionally good. Fresh made guacamole appetizer was the best. Friendly service and linen table cloth environment felt upscale and low prices. We were on vacation visiting family there who have lived nearby but never tried. Now they will.

Wait staff like guilermo are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Price for same drink changes with each visit and way to expensive for a small neighborhood place. All this being said I do enjoy it very much.
Awesome Tex-Mex. This is a great Tex-Mex Julisco style Mexican place. Located center ally in downtown Peekskill, this is a good spot for Tex-Mex style food. While the cost for food may be $1-2 more than you are used too, the portion sizes are large. Margaritas are expensive, but they have XX and Negra Modelo on tap for good prices.
Great Food, Good Prices, Nice Atmosphere. Although a busy place, we were seated right away. Drinks were a little pricey, but very good. Meals were large portions and very tasty. Desert was delicious and the coffee was excellent. this was our first visit and we will be back for more 🙂
Terrible food terrible service and a bad odor
Rubens Cafe. This is a family favorite – we always go for the specials; they have always been great. Skip the margarita, they have delicious sangria!
Muy sabroso. Ruben’s is home-away-from-home for any ex-pat who misses real Mexican cuisine. Jalisco-born Ruben offers south-of-the-border specialties including mole and seafood dishes, plus Tex-Mex favorites, and a full bar. Festive decor will put you in the mood for a margarita, and there are plenty from which to choose! Outdoor seating, weather permitting. There’s always a party on Friday and Saturday nights.
