Arnie’s pizza is the BEST!!!. There is something about Arnie’s pizza- its that crust…crispy, tasty, irresistible. I’m a Plattsburgher and this has always been the place to go. There is never any uneaten crust on my plate. And you can get an uncooked pizza, take it home, cook at 425 degrees. Its ready when you are. There other menu items are good too- but the pizza is the tops.
Arnie’s Is The Best Italian Food. Despite what these other reviews say, Arnie’s is an excellent restaurant through & through. The sauce, is absolutely not canned. It is freshly made each day. How do I know this, you ask? Part of my family owns the restaurant. I’ve also seen them cooking the food. I would suggest you go to Arnie’s & have a delightful meal. They have good prices & excellent portioned meals. I was quite offended to see someone say they believe this amazing homemade sauce was canned. But again! Go to Arnie’s, you really won’t regret it. They have an excellent menu.
I brought my wife to Arnies on a date and found the environment over crowded for the space available and the service and food was not very good I will not be coming back
Disappointed. Unfortunetly night will probably be the last time, we (husband and I) give Arnie’s a chance. Food was very bland no seasoning absolutely no flavor. Pizza had the apperience of a very cheap frozen pizza. Leaving my husband said to me that he would have prefererd eating a frozen pizza. Service was excellent, food unfortunetly was not.
Saturday evening dinner 4-14-2012. We were a party of 7 and sat downstairs for dinner. We called ahead and they graciously accommodated us by setting two tables together. The downstairs has a bar, a few tables for dining and window seating. We requested downstairs seating as we had two elderly people in our group who would not be able to navigate the stairs to dine. It was a full house downstairs and the two woman working the bar and serving food worked together in rhythm. They did a great job hustling and being efficient. It was a tight squeeze for our party and for the other guests to get by our table near the bar on the way to the bathroom. Which is a bit odd. A unisex bathroom with a stall and a urinal. Be warned, lock the door when you go in so you don’t come out of the stall to find someone using the urinal! To my surprise, I thought the food was a tad on the pricey side. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. My dinner did not come with a salad or any other sides. Just the spaghetti and two small meatballs. That was $10.50. My son ordered a pizza that he enjoyed (age 11) but the crust tasted commercially made. My Mom ordered broiled salmon and she loved it. It came with a garden medley of veggies that Iooks like the Birdseye brand I prepare at home in my microwave. Her salmon dinner was $14.95 plus $2.95 extra for a small side salad. My hubby had lasagna that he thought was good. One piece of lasagna, no salad, no veggies, was $10.95. My daughter had Fettuccine Alfredo, it came with no salad or veggies for $9.95. A small plate indeed !I am Italian and from Syracuse, NY. There are many good Italian restaurants in Syracuse that are not fancy but produce delicious dinners with far greater value than Arnie’s. Other reviewers rave about the sauce. Nope. This is a predominately canned sauce with no depth to the flavor. I was disappointed. The tiny meatballs (2) were lack luster. We were served generous amounts of bread and butter to make up for the lack of salad or veggies that should have been included with the meal. The prices range from $10 – $20+ on their menu. I know this place has been established since the 1950’s, but for my taste….it is not REAL home made Italian food.I guess it just depends on what you are used to and what quality of restaurants you have to choose from in your area. Overall, the food was ok and the waitresses were nice as pie and very hard working. But if you are hankering for some good, tasty Italian cooking, keep looking.
If you want good italian food go here. The sause they put on there spagetti, pizza etc is amazing.go here if some of the best plattsburgh has to offer.
A Plattsburgh standard. Delicious, delicious, delicious, as well a great atmosphere, no matter if your upstairs or down (I prefer upstairs). Pick and choose from their nicely sized menu and pick anything you want, because it is all great. I’ve tried over half, and have yet to be disappointed. Enjoy!
