Akari’s Great. While traveling to visit family over the holidays, my wife and I had the very pleasurable experience of having a sushi lunch at Akari. It was excellent!! We will definitely be going back on our next trip to the northland.
FANTASTIC!. From the friendly staff, to the skilled sushi Chefs, to the decor (currently under expansion renovation- yaaay!), to the artfully prepared food and diverse menu, this place is fantastic! I love Akari. They have some of the best sushi in the Hudson Valley by far. It is good that they are finally able to expand this location, as that was really the only issue with dining here. It was very small before, and could get cold in the winter, as the door opens right into the dining area, with tables close by. No more problems with that, though. Akari is a MUST if you enjoy sushi, shumai, sashimi and other types of Japanese cuisine.

Love the sushi. Volcano roll a must. It’s a little chilly in the winter time, but they are relocating to a larger space. Service is very friendly.

Small and quaint…very much like a restaurant in Japan. Good sushi, very nice staff, excellent presentation for the cost, and complimentary saki until they get their beer and wine license!
AWESOME!. I love Akari, they have the have best sushi in Poughkeepsie. They are very small and the service is very friendly. They have awesome lunch specials. Everything they serve is delicious especially their Spicy Calamari and their Fireman Roll. (its to die for) its a ritual of mine and my friends to go on Tuesdays 🙂 its not a complete week without Akari!
