A Neighborhood Fixture. Brother’s Pizzeria has been churning out pizza in Fresh Meadows for decades. I have had the good fortune to experience their pizza over the years. This is the area in which I grew up. There were quite a few representative New York style pizza places in the vicinity. No one has the longevity of Brother’s Pizzeria and the continuity with the same pizzaioli. Nothing has really changed physically in the store. That is a good thing for Brother’s. Customers still saddle up to the counter seats and order the round or square slice and a soda. The plain Neapolitan slice is my choice at Brother’s. It is simple and balanced, neither overwhelmed by sauce nor cheese. It was nice to step into a place that has existed since my youthful days and carries some memories. Even the pizza has not changed to any noticeable degree.
