Dry like the desert. I bought food from this restaurant a couple of times, hoping that it would taste better. I’ve had the moro, both gandules and red beans, chicharron de pollo sin hueso, mofongo de pollo, and carne guisada. All of it is dry as hell, The red bean moro tastes horrible and smells funny. The mofongo is a waste of money. I thought the beef stew was the best, atleast the meat was soft. Everything else has the quality of chinese food and is three times the cost.

A Dominican Stalwart in Corona. Caridad was the first Dominican restaurant within which I had dined. It does not have the best food nor the finest atmosphere. Caridad offers typical Dominican cuisine. Caridad has a prototypical steam table and a set steam table menu for each day of the week. No one food selection is standout. The vibe and atmosphere make Caridad the most authentic Dominican restaurant in Corona. Some of my favorites are chicharrn de pollo, chivo guisado, pollo al horno, and pernil al horno. They have decent quipe and pastelitos. The empanada de yuca is tasty if a little chintzy on the meat and very greasy. On second thought, the sweet beans (habichuelas dulce), made around Christmas and Easter, are among the very best commercially available that I have encountered. Sweet beans are a nice dessert.
